Poison 202 or trouble maker??
Please help me decide lol
Comments
both
They are so different that you cant really compare the two. I say get both because both are great.
Troublemaker. But you will get proponents for both. And probably for good reason. And without knowing what you intend, desire, prefer, appreciate, it would be almost impossible to etc etc. They are both good apps with adherents...
Based on need.
Poison-202 if you need 90's leads (now). Great sound!
Troublemaker if you need a squelchy base you can sequence from inside the app or drive from an external midi source. It's got great mutation/variation parameters!
No regrets from me on getting both.
+1 Absolutely to what @lukesleepwalker said.
Both.
Poison will do a lot more than just 90s sounds if you program it. I believe the dev just chose them because they are sounds he / she likes and showcase it quite well.
Poison is very close to some of Roland's more recent digital synth offerings before they went into the Aira range. If you look at Synths like the Jupiter 80, AU instances of Poison 202 put together come pretty close to being similar to its synth architecture parts.
Yes and troublemaker is a great 303 type thing. Never had a 303, but most say it's pretty great![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Forego the purchase of a latte or cigs and get both.
If I ever decide to start a cafe, my slogan is going to be "Great coffee for the price of an app!"
Actually amazing that any of us app-buyers ever buy coffee (out) any more. I found myself earlier swallowing down a double espresso and laughing at how little thought I gave to that but ummed and ahhed last night about getting iDousyn for 4.99 which I wrote half a song on in half an hour and still own![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I only drink coffee out at Waitrose, as I can have a Latte free if I buy something else (even a 50p biscuit)![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I have an aira tb-3 and i really like troublemaker
ACID!!!!
It would be the Poison 202 all the way for me, fantastic synth, but then I don't like TB-303s.
I'd love to hear some audio samples of this. Always loved the Roland sound.
Me too. I can appreciate the 'architecture', but find the sounds/presets almost completely out of range/palette for me. Maybe there's room for someone to develop a wuss bank, if the thing's capable of it....
Ok, I won't promise it soon, as I have a lot of life things happening at this time. Also the to write a specific bank to share, I have to get rid of the bank I use on it that does have some quite aggressive sounds too. But I will set it as a project to do....'Wuss Bank' it is!
I recommend Poison-202. The synth is awesome and with a bit of patience I have been able to recreate patches on it that sound very close to the Elka Synthex and Roland D50 like Spacious Sweep and the Synthex Band Pass filter sweep pad heard of Jarre's Rendez-vous Part 5.
Troublemaker. Sounds phenomenal and the sequencer is great. Lfo and mutations. Plus can do non 303 sounds and syncs to everything great. Poison has been on my wishlist for ages but i have plenty of good poly synths and the graphics really turn me off (shallow i know but i embrace it).
WUSSES OF THE WORLD UNITE!
