Please rate Midiflow for Audiobus 3 if you like it.
Hey guys,
first, I want to say thank you for this amazing first day of Midiflow for Audiobus 3! I've received so much positive feedback, about the apps themselves and also the tutorial videos.
As the title suggests, I would be really happy about reviews or at least ratings on the App Store (bundle and individual apps). I know, it's more fun to continue playing around with the new stuff, but hey, I really need your help with that. Thank you so much!
All the best,
Johannes

Great work![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
The videos are really excellent! It'd be great to have some examples of how to use the MIDI effects for drums rather than melodic instruments.
Done. Great work.
Will do. As great as these apps are, they are technically thrice removed from the mainstream and can use all the help they can get finding the audience.
I bought the full bundle as much as a supporting the whole AB3 thing as anything else and only after watching Sir Doug's video did I venture out into the deeper waters which, I soon realized, are lovely. Yeah, I'm still splashing around in an ugly fashion, but I'm grateful I dived in....will review for sure.
A brilliant job was done by you! It's awesome!
And your videos are very enlightening!
The only issue that I have is about virtual midi data that needs to be sent to a specific channel in app. How can I do it?
Would you mind improving a kind of tool that can make it possible? I work with MIDImorphosis and JamSynth to send datas in different channels on Gadget.
Thanks for you attention!
Best
We (the Audiobus team and me) discussed the channel thing long ago. Since our goal was to make the MIDI stuff as simple and misconfiguration-proof as possible, we decided against MIDI channels at all, until it comes to hardware MIDI ports. Instead of that, AB3-compatible apps should implement multiple MIDI ports (with nice names) instead of listening to or sending on multiple channels (technical numbers).
With that said, I understand that there are cases where you need channels, mostly when dealing with apps that don't make a proper AB3 update. I have to discuss with @Sebastian if AB3 should get a channel remapping feature, or if there should be a Midiflow channels app.
Yes please, some simple channel remapping/blocking would be extremely helpful, as all apps may not implement ports. As I've pointed out in another thread, Cubasis doesn't support it as an example..
Latest explorations in 3 channels of Oscillab routing through MF Scales into some random synths (Animoog, Magellen, iSEM) was fun.
I like the fact that you can "play" the scales in real-time for melodic improvisation.
This was outside AB3, hope more MIDI generators get on board the AB3 bandwagon.
I gotta try this one. Thanks!
Yes, I love that too, but had that definitely not in mind when developing it. It's nice if your own app can surprise you. :-D
It's only a matter of time before someone asks you if it's possible to put all 3 scales on one screen for easier simultaneous manipulation ... Not that I'd be that pushy.![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Know thy audience. I would be against the elegant simplicity of AB3. Maybe there should be a pro version for the power users?
Welp, I just took the plunge, and I am a hopeless MIDIot. Really think AB3 and Midiflow can help me, though. This is gonna be fun!
Enjoy, I've been MIDIing since I could insert a DIN plug into an Atari ST. I think MidiFlow makes it about as easy as it can be.
More creativity less set-up, perfect partner to AB3.
Would love some sort of midiflow AU parameter step sequencer... thing...
No midi channels? How is external midi handled?
I don't own AB3 yet, so I can't try anything, but can you explain how are external midi controllers handled?
For example, you make 3 tracks in AB3 with 3 different synths. How do you assign different midi channels to different synths so you can play a synth you want?
Or in case of an external sequencer, like BeatStepPro that has 3 channels?
Can an external midi controller tweak parameters on Animoog for example in AB3?
You can select different midi channels for external gear.
Thanks @Carnbot .
What are you @JohannesD talking about?
You can only change channels for external hardware ports, but not for other apps.
Thank you for your reviews so far! ★★★★★ in almost all cases.![<3 <3](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/heart.png)
@JohannesD - The Randomizer could really use an "amount" control (i.e. how often the randomization is applied to the three parameters: note, velocity, time.)
Also the Midiflow apps seem to freeze up at faster tempos or with tempo changes, but maybe this could have something to do with processing speed of the ipad itself. (And at "normal" tempos, it works pretty well.)
