Triggering Cubasis record in A3
I feel I should know how to do this: how do I use A3 to trigger recording in Cubasis?
A3 is BLOWING MY MIND. How did I live without this?

You could use the record button in the connection panel.
pressing the record wont do a global play though as the play in AB3 itself will.
Surely the option should exist to start 'playing all' on press of the record button, would keep the midi nice and tidy
Right, exactly. It'd be PERFECT to have AB3 trigger Cubasis (or other DAW) to record. That would save me from a badly-timed "REC" hit. (I guess my own recording keypresses should be quantized...)
I tried to find a way by setting Cubasis as a MIDI destination but didn't see one.
Cubasis will record midi when it is connected to the AB output (midi channel). The channels that are automatically created from AB record audio.
Cubasis cannot be triggered. This crucial feature has been missing forever.
Actually, the midi channels can also be created directly from AB, just tested it (midi tab).
You could trigger Cubasis if triggering record from within another app via sidebar. I've done it before but don't have iPad now to test.
