AB3 and Auria

Auria is the main app I use on iOS, so I'd like to know if AB3 is ready to use with Auria and how I can use it before deciding on getting it.
Thanks!

  • Auria Pro hasn't been updated to the new Audiobus 3 SDK so it will work but track names will all be named 'Audiobus Intermediary port' or something when you do the things you used to do in Audiobus 2.

It shouldn't be an issue but I haven't tested it at all. That's all I can say right now.

  • OK. Thanks. I'll wait a bit then.

  • @pichi I've just recorded 5 tracks into Auria Pro via AB3 no problems at all. I just added Auria Pro as an AB3 audio output and the track was automatically created in AP labelled "Audiobus".

I just tried some random synths (Fugue Machine, Figure, Patterning) but all looks good if you just want to get some tracks down.

Cheers. Have you tried the midi yet? Let me know if you have. Interested to know how that will work.

  • Very interested in this too , looking to mess about in AB3 them pass it over to AP. Seems like a better idea than using AB3 + AUM as I already have AP and for mixing duties it can't really be beaten ...

Not ventured into MIDI yet, will give that a go soon and report back.

AP doesn't appear in any of AB3 midi slots, so Lyra or FF One or Twin2 can't receive midi from AB3.

Having spent 40 minutes trying to get anything hosted in AB3 to send MIDI to AP I have to agree.

As @Sebastian has said, once in AB3 the MIDI inputs/outputs are disabled for others to avoid clashing. Here's hoping others will add support soon.

On the upside I have been using the MIDIFlow effects in standalone mode no problem to route to AP.

  • I have been making use of Cubasis with AB3 midi etc, but would much prefer to return to my native land (Auria) to do the same. Let's hope @WaveMachineLabs has it on his List.....

For the time being, I'm making Cubasis my World of MIDI and Auria Pro my World of Audio. Maybe this division of labor will stick for me over the long haul. Good justification for owning two fully-fledged DAWs.
