HELP...Storage Problem on iPad 4
Hi everybody. So this is odd, Jo uses an iPad four, and I use it to film the videos. its a 32gb model, it has maybe 5gb worth of Apps on it tops. All videos are deleted, there are no photos, I have rebooted and cleared the Safari Cache, and its telling me that there is only 2.57gb free space...any ideas anyone
Comments
Try empty the cache with battery doctor

Have you checked in settings under storage and usage?
Have you deleted the deleted videos from the recently deleted album in photos, deleted photos and videos stay there for a month otherwise.
Yes, have done all that
Yes, done that, no difference
Try going into Settings/Storage and see where the storage is distributed, which app has it.
It shows app size and files. Delete and reinstall the app.
I had to do it few times and it deleted the hidden files
Hi, Doug. Try this one:
If it doesn't work, I have another question:
Does Jo use a particular app to record those videos?
Sometimes, it happened to me recording some videos that store either in Videos and in the app theirselves.
Good luck.
No, I record the videos and just through the on board camera, I can reset and clear the whole device from the iPad, which is not a problem, just wanted to know if there was anyone who had experienced this sort of thing before
If I remember well, you can access to Video/Photo storage via iFunbox, so maybe the last bullet could be to try to access and delete them manually.
Factory Reset and restore wanted items from cloud?
The storage information in Settings should allow you to identify what app is taking up so much space. I don't understand the mystery... is the list of app storage not adding up to account for the available space?
Check system files also.
Use iTools to check storage I bet it's the cache.Your best option will be backup and restore.
I assume you've deleted the photos from the photos app "Recently Deleted" album?
Having a related issue on my iPad 4. I hooked it up to iTunes last week - and in the breakdown of storeage it shows Documents and Data, Apps, Videos, and something called OTHER. My iPad has 10,65 gb in Other. I did a search on the apple forums and few other sites - found that it's a common issue for the Other section to fill up with data - but nobody seems to know how to get rid of that or exactly what that data is.
Yeah, I'm do a factory reset tomorrow, there's nothing in there really important on it anyway..thanks everyone
Yep, factory reset is not an issue if you've already updated to the latest iOS version.
When I did it on my iPad 4 I recovered about 10 Gb, but it tooks A LOT of time. Maybe I'll do the same after losing more than 500 Mb when updated to iOS 10.3 from iOS9.
I'm just going to wipe it and start again
Not sure if that could be a possibility but when you delete photos they keep staying in the deleted folder for a while. Could it be the same with vids?
how is 10.3 on your ipad 4 working? I am wary of updating cause things are working fine as they are now with 9.3.
The only way I found to clear the Others is to wipe the IPad after you do a Backup! From what I understand it builds up from uninstalling apps which we do when we have smaller hard drives! Remember to backup your IPad or you'll be crying like a baby, then limit your installs and uninstalls.
My iPad4 will stay on iOS 9.x. I was talking about my experience after updating to iOS 10.3.1 on my iPhone 5s, which runs smoothly, despite losing those Mb.
All done and all is well, just did a complete reset, everything back to factory default, all memory fine again, Jo reinstalled all her stuff and all is good again in the land of iPad 4.
Also it's running the very latest iOS update with no problems, bear in mind though that this particular iPad is not used for anything musical
