Thanks for doing this! It gave a very good representation of what the new IAP offers! :-)
@Doug Very nice video as usual.
Miroslav, is that the classic old orchestral sample library that IK bought the rights to? Or is it just the name of some dude or the orchestra? Sounds good tho, for the price. But I just deleted it from the iPad cos of the popup ads, and having an orchestral library on the iPhone 5...I dunno, does the iPhone 5 support all the minis and micros keyboards from Korg and others yet?
Hey ChrisG..it is very good..not sure about the samples or were they come from, but it has been around for ages..the pop ups are annoying..but once its loaded its fine..all the sounds are good and you can also do some pretty neat stuff with the app..like layer any four of the sounds..record etc..@Flo26 I think you should put it back on abd explore the app more, I think you would get a lot from the sounds..
Cheers for doing the vids mate! I always find them useful.
Soundtestroom, yea I did buy Sampletank and all the IAPs a year or two ago or something (before all the popups started). Was just thinking about this new sample pack, and yea it seems to be the Miroslav libraries that's been around for ages. Still sounds great tho. How large is the complete install (under iOS settings general usage) when the new Miroslav is downloaded? Without it it's 1gb, and my 16 GB can't take much more lol
Edit: Also, IKM says 83 new presets/sounds in this pack. But going by their definition of a new preset it could be the same exact string sample with a filter sweep added or a slightly longer decay and so on. How does this pack look/sound like? 83 new presets or more like half that number but with variations of the same samples/presets?
Anyone know the story behind the Miroslav library and how it ended up in IKMs hands?
Oooh, tempting! Thanks for the very prompt demo.
Great job Doug! I find sampletank very useful. Didn't think I'd go for sound bank but your vid convinced me.
Its a cool bank...OK Chris, it runs at around 600 mb..and the 83 samples are 99% clean..just real ochestral stuff..no FX....and the perc sections are vast...couple of FX added here and there..I think that if you have all the others and you use the Tank alot..then its probably a good buy..I get nothing free from IK so I have to buy their stuff but its worth the money for the quality..they sound great on thier own but once they are in a mix..its hard to tell them from the real thing...
I tried to download this last night, but it failed 60% into the download. If I try purchasing it again, it recognises that I've bought it, but that it hasn't been downloaded and gives me an option to download, but nothing happens other than 'purchase cancelled'. Hard reset performed. Uninstall/Reinstall/Purchase restore performed. Latest iOS and 13.5Gb free on my iPad.
Thanks Doug! I'm gonna check it out later when I can get my hands on a bigger iPad
Thanks for @thesoundtestroom when I wath your video ready I can know that it's fit to me or not.Sometime I want to buy some apps but there no video that show me there feather.
Nice soundpack it's mean a lot to me because SampleTank is the only sample app that support breath controller [via MidiBridge]
Don't have anywhere near enough space for this, which is a shame because it sounds lovely. Wonder if I could buy this on PC and transfer the samples onto the ipad as I need them...
Thanks for the demo!
Anyone else had a problem like Pauls with the download..
I haven't seen a lot of reports of issues with download. If the purchase went through you'll see it in your purchase history in iTunes, though, and it should come back with the restore function in our in-app store. This is a downloadable pack that you can download and remove at will so you should see the ability to download (instead of purchase) once the purchase has been successfully made. I'd still make sure using Purchase History in iTunes. Also, if in doubt, please do ask support at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/support or App Store/Apple/iTunes support.
Oh and of course - great video! And there are actually 100 sounds, it lists them on our site and we should be updating the in-app store listing to state 100 instead of the inaccurate 83 ASAP. Here's the page that has the list: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/sampletankipad/index.php?pp=sampletankipad-versions
This is what actually happens.
I do have a support ticket going, but so far, it hasn't helped.
@PaulB - why is it showing two SampleTank's installed in your settings...free & paid? Try restoring from a backup on your computer than doing it? I know it's a pain but might work.
I actually uninstalled and reinstalled prior to making the video. Purchase restore only restored the other instruments, not the Miroslav pack.
Popups are back! Gone for a day and it was soooo nice! Thanks for teasing us ikmultimedia.
I know. Wishful thinking. It seems to be intermittent though.
.
The Miroslav pack download finally spluttered into life this evening while I repeatedly tried nothing other than repurchasing the IAP. Since I changed nothing at my end while the process was fixing itself, I suspect delivery server issues.
If everyone calls you PaulB I'm going to get confused...
I like WI Orchestra too, it's a shame it's not on the bus.
WI is brilliant...I wish that was on the bus..
Released 10MAY2011 / Updated with CoreMIDI input support 26MAY2011 / Nothing since then!
I'm not expecting AB support anytime soon
Sampletank? It got Audiobus support. Don't know about the upgradable "free" version tho, but wouldn't be surprised if IKM did not put Audiobus into it...
I believe @Washboy was referring to Wi, not Sampletank.
Oh ok. Looked it up, and I have downloaded it at some point. Looks good, hope it gets some Audiobus love
