Oooh, I read this was coming out....looks like it might be useful for making quick music vids...
I was hoping it was some kind of screen capture thing, it would be nice to have something that doesn't require a Mac to do easy demos I can pollute YouTube with.
Needs latest iOS version....one must have sneaked in when I wasn't looking
Load of crap, deleted.
I think you need to start an app blog. This is the kind of pithy review I would love to actually see sometimes (when appropriate).
Agree!
I was also left unimpressed!
I read some reviews that said it wasn't exactly easy to use, and I certainly wasn't expecting a LumaFusion competitor for free, but I'm sure those on a budget with some imagination can get some use from it. Might be a good companion to Wizibel.
Reminds me of the review that made the critic J.D. Considine famous. Writing for Musician magazine in the 80s, he was called upon to review the band GTR, which was a "supergroup" featuring Steve Howe of Yes and Steve Hackett of Genesis.
The sum total of Considine's copy:
GTR
SHT.
A couple weeks ago I started looking into video editing apps, figuring that with the level of the daws on ios there must be some good video apps out there... not even close...
I could have padded that one out and gone a bit A.A. Gill, but sometimes you've got to cut straight to the chase boss.
I like the 'cartoon' video effect, but when I tried adding text it asked me to 'allow' dictation - and when directed to the settings page it also quietly mentioned I'd be agreeing to send Apple everything about me, including what I'm having for tea tonight. Seemed a bit overkill for a text tool so I didn't accept their silly terms, and so was then unable to add any text. So I thought I'd add a bit of music instead...but of course this links in to iTunes rather than something good like Audioshare, so I deleted the bugger before it could annoy me further.
I don't think this sort of thing is aimed at people like me.
All the people in the app demo pictures are around 25. And smiling. That's not really me any more.
That was never me, even when I was 25
Used to do chemically-induced smiling. I think. Not anymore.
I had bottom length crazy hair, Gong t-shirt, fungally induced thousand yard stare, dayglo wellies and lived in a VW camper van. Though that might count as cool now, in the 80's I was the type of person your mother warned you about.
This app was designed for the instagram, Facebook and most of all Snapchat generation.. and it's pretty great for that, as the (probably) youngest person in this forum I can see that when I'm with friends, etc.
I was really surprised to see it mentioned here. It's not really for anything pro (unless there's such a thing as social medial sharing pros) no surprise most of you will probably consider it crap. I have no use for it myself (I uninstalled it immediately) but I kinda get it.
iMovie it's way better and depending on when you got your iOS device it's free as well.
Sorry to trouble you professionals with a free app. I'll try not to make that mistake again.
Why so butt-hurt?
It's great that you pointed it out, and even greater that people give their honest opinions about it. Nothing personal intended by anyone, I'm sure.
[edit: sorry - butt-hurt was way too snarky for what I was trying to say, which is simply "thanks for posting - no need to take it personally if it's not everyone's cup of tea"]
^ this
And we got a clear, calm explanation of exactly who and what it's for from Lacm1993. Thanks, Lacm1993.
That's smart casual in Queensland.
Giggle of the day.
What is a good video editor?
iMovie?
I quite like Pinnacle Pro for comprehensive editing. (Though I agree there's a place for simpler fun editors).
The top dog in iOS now is LumaFusion. This one from Apple will canibalize iMovie.
Cool, thanks for the LumaFusion tip. I will have to look at it further.
It's good that one. Once you've got it, most people's video making needs are covered.
It will be a VERY big success for Apple. Maybe. OK: Not.
(nobody cares)
I am a bit surprised that Apple is doing things like this and is waisting ressources for something, that nobody will love - and that nobody will remember in two years.
Maybe Tim Cook should create a Rap-Music-creation app. At least he will have fun with it.
I should imagine it might help them with speech recognition
Or tin foil hat time, the CIA could use it to learn to lip read......
