I will be doing many more of the IAP demos for BeatHawk over the next few months, but I'm starting with String Ensemble

  • Thanks Doug. I'm sold :)

  • Nice video! You really have the talent to both play and making good reviews!

Wonderful demo, Doug! In addition to a walk through of the pack, it really shows off the beauty of the BeatHawk interface, and how easy it is to start building up grooves.

  • Awesome work as usual Doug. :)

  • Thanks for the great comments, Toz Bourne has asked me to have a look at the Baroque and Tutti Orchestra so I'll do the Barogue next

  • Beathawk to me is the top of the heap of the groove/beat making machine apps. I still like the majority with iMaschine 2 and even the maligned iMPC Pro being favorites (sorry, I bought it, but never got into Beatmaker 2).

The only issue with the "groove studios" is if you have anything less than a 128GB iPad it'll become quickly apparent you will have good chunks of storage eaten away if you start to accumulate the IAP content (especially if you go completist like my OCD ass is prone to do.)

My 64GB Air 2 tapped out last year so stuff has had to go (BeatMaker, iMaschine 2, Garage Band, etc). Doug's demo to me shows the great quality of the UVI stuff, so if there's one of those apps to go with IMO it's the one that's an AU & the one with a great step editor...Beathawk.

Thank you Doug, looking forward to it.

  • Just grabbed this iap, love everything UVI is putting in this wonderful app!!

  • This sounds soooooo good

  • Just purchased it and I love it. I want to buy additional packs, but I have some questions:

The brass in a tutti pack sounds a bit synthy to me is that the case?

Is the guitar in the baroque pack as awesome as it sounds?

Does the harp in the baroque pack include arpeggios?

Is there a patch list for the choir pack? Are there different vowel sounds?

I'll get around around to demoing all these packs, but for now I will check the Choir pack, but I know there are not separate vowels, the Baroque pack is the next I'm going to demo this week, and I'll have a listen to the Tutti pack brass for you too tomorrow and let you know here B)

  • Thanks!

By the way, I discovered that if you go to the UVI site you can see the list of all the patches that are part of the regular VST. This seems to be the same sets that are included with the packs.
