I am looking forward to the new Propellerhead app.....

...... more than any releases for a long while. Is there any tiny little crumbs of information to nibble on yet - or is it far too early for that sort of thing? It's just that I have a certain sort of feeling that it is going to give Gadget some seriously stiff opposition- and that it will it will become my go to app before very long.

  • It probably doesn't even have a GUI yet.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, the grudge match begins: Glass Half-Empty v. Glass Half-Full.

    Vs the Glass Doesn't Exist.

  • Definitely pre-vaporware

When I laughed out loud at this my other half asked who makes me laugh so much in a fit of jealousy.

That's okay I can wait a few weeks if needs be :) in the meantime- I see the Pioneer/ Dave Smith AS1's are in the shops now- any thoughts on these?

  • Vs "Message in the bottle".
    -> Where is the bottle?

  • One is too many and a thousand is never enough.

  • I'd love to think that we'll get full Reason (or something close). But at the same time, I wouldn't want them to water it down to the point of being unrecognisable. I don't want a one-finger jam app. I want racks, cables, CV, and maybe even Rack Extensions (god knows I've bought enough; would be nice to be able to use em!).

But I think it's far more likely we'll see some kind of "core" Reason, perhaps more similar to Reason 5 or 6 than what we have now, with the good ol Subtractor, Thor, Kong, etc. and a means to transfer our ideas to big-boy Reason to finish them off.

Well, far more likely in comparison to full Reason on iPad. Still unlikely compared to all the other likely scenarios, like an expanded Figure, or something completely new for iOS.

  • Probably not a good thing, but time will tell:

  • Probably not a good thing, sadly.

Why is that not good ? They took on a partner who wants to expand mobile music. What did I miss?

  • Right, because the money guys are always about the music and not the vertical integration.

  • Sounds like someone needs a Pepsi

  • More one finger jamming, more one finger automation please. It's good fun

I think we're United on this.

AS-1 is awesome. Full Prophet-6 voice and effects, arpeggiator and sequencer with tons of modulation routings. I made an editor for iPad in MIDIDesigner Pro which allows realtime control of the whole Prophet-6 voice.
