RIP John Warren Geils Jr.

Part of the 80s cannon, and a great guitarist.

(Not to discount the 10 years of hard work before the 80s)

  • My friend just told me this fun fact..

J Geils was roommates with David Lynch back on college. Lynch thought Geils was too weird - even by his standards.

  • Every show was a party. Great band. You never see his name mentioned in "Top Guitar Player" polls and lists, but he had chops and groove to spare. J. Geils, you will be missed.

Good one! Something about kettles, pots, and black comes to mind.

  • Damn! And so it continues .... :(

  • The only Boston band in the 70s who could play well live.
And they played their asses off!
    RIP

So glad to have caught the J Geils Band at their peak. Sharing the stage with Steve Miller, ELO, Heart, and others, J Geils stole the show. One of the greatest live performance bands ever. The ultimate party band. RIP, Maestro.

  • Sad.......Greater musculoskeletal flexibility than Iggy
