The distortion pushing the arp grid to an extra screen really bothers me for some reason. Especially since it's not a necessary effect...you can do dirty enough things with osc 3 modding 1&2 or the ring mod. The app got a lot more cumbersome and it feels more bloated than concise now. Not a fan of 'onboard' effects other than maybe a delay.

I only have a strong opinion because I loved what was there and felt it was an, maybe THE, ideal synth for iOS. I wish these betas didn't expire, I'd buy it anyway.

You could always roll back to the earlier beta for now. I'm just happy it's an AUx now. So much fun to be had

  • I am using the beta and love it. My problem I am having is the arp doesn't sync to the link Cycles. In other apps Link runs in cycles so for instance in Fugue it waits till the next lock to start. In Mood the arp starts when you tap a key ( I have hold enabled) instantly and this means it isn't in sync with the link. Does anyone else have this issue and how do you get over it.

Anybody having trouble with link? Drifts CRAZILY against a Recife beat in AUM. Or does the arp not have anything to do with bpm? Playing an arp, changed the tempo -- 120 to 88 to 166 -- arp unchanged.

You need to sync the arp. There is a switch for it to change the Arp to 1/8 1/4 1/4T etc This then works with the BPM But the problem I have found is that it doesn't sync to the Link Cycles. I use Loopy and you have to manually start it as a guess rather than it locking to the cycle.

  • The "final" build of mood is available for the testers. A couple weeks back I submitted my presets to the apeSoft team for inclusion, so you all can enjoy those as well. I'm hoping that the full release is out soon - in the past 2 months this has become a staple of my synth roster. Highly recommended, especially for those who are frustrated with iMini.

  • Userguide is here :)

Those testing does it do proper PWM? (I can only see some waves with PWM indication).
I've read thru the manual as well...

  • Any ideas of the intro price?

Sadly no. Sorry to disappoint the resident PWM nut  The best you can do is use the LFO on the oscillator shape to step between square, pulse, and thinner pulse wave. Which is far from PWM.

  • I'm gonna guess $15 based on the iVCS price, and fairness

  • I've read thru most posts but in a nutshell what sets this apart from the others?

    No worries :)

Looking at the screenshots I thought the waveform knob was able to smoothly blend between the waves similar to what can be done in Blamsoft's Viking and some other synths. This will be nice to check out when it's out.

  • Still sounds a little ways off....

  • A week, maybe a bit longer? It was submitted 4-5 days ago.

Ok, just had a Beatles moment...rolled out of bed and had this recorded in 5 minutes. But instead of 'Yesterday', it's a classic 80s sitcom theme song. I'm ecstatic about this, and it demonstrates mood, so enjoy the rough version.

Release a little later, because I complain to much and always find the odd shit. :)

I was having problems with it, but only in Auria. For some reason it doubled up the midi notes it was receiving and would play up an octave as well. I had to turn off all the midi inputs in the app and it worked fine.

Thanks. Maybe I'll get to work on a pilot episode. This is just further proof I was born in the wrong era.

    Did you report this?
    I don't have auria so I can't confirm.
    Quick now!

Haha, I couldn't replicate it when I tried, so I dunno what the problem was

    No microtuning? :s
(i really hope Zeeon will offer this).

  • Don't know if it's news around here, but it appears the Mood manual is up on the Apesoft site...

  • Looks like mood should be hitting the App Store any time now - can someone post here when they see it up? The "final" beta was submitted yesterday and I got an email earlier from the apeSoft team that it was ready available.

  • I think it might be a few more days still since they submitted several updates after the 'golden master'.

  • I stand corrected. Guess it'll be filtering through the different country stores by tonight, per their website.

    Price is $11.99

  • Thanks for the heads up! Had really been looking forward to this one. A rare instabuy for me, and perhaps my last synth purchase for some time (although I'll probably grab that Ticklemaker modular next month).

  • It's quite lovely , as expected von apesoft.

  • Wasn't too sure about this one under my own clumsy fingers. Appreciate the work of apesoft but never quite get out of their machines what I think I might however going through the @RedSkyLullaby patches pulled it all into focus for me. Good stuff.
