TheAudioDabbler Video | Blues Shuffle in Patterning *Added Gadget Drum video

I just wanted to take a few minutes and show how you could create a blues shuffle in patterning and talk a little about how I approach things.

@jayfehr Here is a small start to your journey.

Above video was inspired by this discussion

  • If it is just for jamming, why not simply using a backingtrac, and just having fun?
    Cheers!

  • Its not just for jamming. The OP of the above discussion link was just commenting on a lot of the iOS videos and apps are geared towards EDM styles and was wanting some videos that were not.

You could use a backing track but I think the OP wanted to create them from scratch.

  • Thank you, this is exactly what I was asking for the other day.

  • Good stuff. I have done similar things in the past with ghost notes to simulate high hat stutters for reggae / one-drop drums. Lots of options in Patterning (and other apps) for making some dynamic beats

  • Great video! Thanks for including the drum lesson links in the liner notes. Would definitely want to see your notebook on bass lines when you get to making that video :)

  • Thanks everyone. @srcer Bass lines are my weakness.

I also made another drum video, this time with gadget and went into a little detail on how to read drum tabs.
