Damn I'm way too gobbie lol
OK, so for the record: How would you save all of your Patterning drum parts for posterity? iTunes?
I migrate things to a new ipad via airplay and still keep the old one around.
The absolute safest way is to export each of your songs as .onps files.
Due to a long-ado snafu on my part in regards to Apple's data policy, the default setting for backing up to iTunes is off. (Basically they rejected the app with backup turn on, because it's a lot of data right off the bat). In iOS Settings app > Patterning you can turn on "Backup User Database" and that will include your Patterning data with in regular iPad backups. I'd definitely turn that on for going forward safely! The setting won't be changed until after you quit and reopen Patterning once, and then of course you'll need to backup the iPad for it to be part of your iPad backup. However, I'd think of this an insurance policy and I would also export the .onps files, because those are much easier to handle / reload / etc.
It's on my mind to find a better way, for sure! Perhaps even just a manual "save entire database" and "replace current database" would be a good idea. Merging would probably not be possible though.
I would very much appreciate the save entire database=>replace entire database. Specially if it had Dropbox export and also saved locally so that ifunbox or iTunes could copy it. Even if merging isn't possible.
