Which Expression Pedal For BlueBoard In LE Mode?
I have some volume pedals, a Boss FV-50H and a cheap Bespeak, that I modified with an additional stereo jack for using them as expression pedals. In the native non BT LE mode they work great. That's with the BlueBoard app, which also has a feature to calibrate the pedals. In BT LE mode, which was introduced in the latest firmware update and is activated by holding down B while powering on, unfortunately my expression pedals don't use the whole range of the pedal but only a smaller range and it can't be calibrated anywhere, since the BlueBoard app doesn't connect to it in LE mode.
So my question is: Has anybody found an XP pedal that has the perfect range for this to work so it's at 0 only in heel position and 127 only in toe position? I don't have any real XP pedals but I might buy some if they are known to work better for this.

Anyone? @IK_Multimedia @ikmultimedia
Can't help you there, but I'd be interested in answer as well.
I'm not sure of a specific expression pedal that would help with this. And without interim control/app functionality, we unfortunately would not have a lot of control over it on our side.
Thanks. So would it be possible to update the BlueBoard app so that it could still function as interim app in LE mode? I think that would be the solution.
Also it would be very cool if one could choose between all possible switching behaviours in the different modes: toggle/momentary, note/cc/pc and also if the XP inputs could be changed to simple foot switch mode when you just want 5 or 6 switches.
I have a Moog EP-1 pedal. At my normal settings, it seems to move between 35% and 65% of full range. It has a manual adjustment knob, which when at extreme setting goes from about to 100%.
This was tested in Tonestack 3.0 over BT LE. So you can't get full function, but close.
Right, that's similar to what I got with my pedals as well. But I found it unusable that way because it also sweeps up so steeply towards the maximum...
Does the app you are trying to control have a calibration function ?
If you want to use the Blueboard app anyway for calibration...why would you need to use BT LE mode ? You can just connect to the app in normal mode.
True, but first of all BT LE consumes much less power, second I can send momentary MIDI notes which isn't possible in native mode. And the receiving app doesn't have a means of calibration. That's why I would really like to see the BlueBoard app updated to allow all of this. Thanks for listening, @ikmultimedia
Ahh yes...I hadn't thought of the power consideration...
Why is it that pedals need calibration but rotary controls don't ? Surely it is the same electronics underneath ?
The rotary controls are usually linear and go all the way from minimum to maximum. Pedals are often logarithmic and also usually only turn the pot about 1/4 rotation. So that's why they need calibration.
Ah yes of course. I guess a pot would break pretty quickly in a pedal if it was able to get to its lower or upper limit and still have more pressure applied.
Hi Munibeast
Very thanks for help abaut firmware update.
Do you know that could solve this problem with midiflow app?
You can select cc mode in BTLE mode on blueboard device that it has pedal expression midi cc message continuous support, and then with midiflow app remap or convert cc,s messages to any note messages that you want. Midiflow support Bluetooth devices . But you can't use looperverse app for midi learn in this form, because looperverse doesn't support virtual midi As well as you know yourself.
Thanks! I found that a regular linear expression pedal such as the M-Audio works well. I had been trying volume pedals, which do work when in native blueboard app mode but in LE mode the range isn't right. So normal expression pedals seem to be fine with that.
These do lots of things, including calibration so you can have 0 and 127 anywhere within the sweep

The M-Audio expression pedal works perfectly with BlueBoard in BTLE mode. It had two modes via switch and a calibration knob. Working great with AUM, full range.
It feels a bit light under the foot, but tigthening screws fix that.
