Ipad Air touch screen not responding
Hi, i've been having this issue with my ipad air 1 for about a week or two. It was working totally fine before then, but then one day the touch screen stopped responding completely. I don't know why. The buttons like the home screen and sleep button work totally fine, i just cant use the touch screen in any way.
I've tried powering off and on, holding the sleep and home buttons until the apple logo comes up, and just letting it sit for a week to see if it resolves- but none of these have fixed anything.
Has anybody ever heard of this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it/what to do?

This may sound really, really stupid, but do you regular clean the screen. As sometimes it does the same for me(especially, when my 6 yr old plays with it......... Sticky Fingers Syndrome). Once it's cleaned, then turn it off, then back on, & it's fine. But I found using a micro cloth, with hot breath over the glass cleans it up( like you do with with Sunglasses)......
Yeah, it's an issue that happens since the original iPhone (Since touchscreen were invented?). Have an iPhone 6 that behaves the same and an old iPod touch (2nd gen) did the same thing, apart from apple I have an android phone that lost touch functionality as well. From what I have read it could be a problem with the digitizer or even worse a problem with the part of the logic board that handles the touch functionality. Honestly I just let those devices die, didn't bother to repair them, if it's the digitizer changing the screen solves the problem if it something else... well...
It could be software but I don't think so. Cleaning your screen...I don't know... give it a try.
I have an Air 1. While I have not seen anything close to losing all touch response, I have noticed that it was seeming less responsive sometimes, like the caps lock key seemed to take several taps, typing text had become difficult ... stuff like that. I just did the latest iOS update (10.3.1) and already things feel more responsive. So I think there was definitely something buggy about the previous OS version in this area. Don't know if applies in your case.
Sounds like an Audiobus issue.
Too much heat can cause this, if you're running a lot of apps and charging at the same time. I never put my phone in my pocket facing me for the same reason. Body heat.
