This is another area where I hold out a lot of hope for BM3. @Samu did I understand correctly when I gathered from comments you've made that AUx parameters are automatable in BM3?

By 'drawing' as I've understood since there is no way to record the AUv3's UI movements in any app.
You can however assign any AUv3-Parameter to a 'BM3 macro knob' and those in turn can be 'recorded'.
It's still in beta so things could change...

Thanks! Sounds very promising, and I think would satisfy @ExAsperis99

Thing is, if you have Volcano already, it does what Micro does, but better. You can just ignore all the modulation options and open it up with just the default setting and adjust the filter - doing it this way makes it pretty much identical to Micro, except you have a much greater choice of filter types that each have a different character.

Aw man, I would've said this but I took it as him being too tempted to resist the modulation and crazy presets. Still, can't go wrong with the Micro either.

Quite. Seems like without automation you remove a lot of the power of a filter.
It's quite amazing how much really excellent advice gets passed around when there's not an imminent app release!

I'm doing my best to test every aspect of it as good as I possibly can and I would not be surprised if I've missed something though... (After all I'm mostly interested in Sampling & Synthesis).

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I want to confirm I can record Ripplemaker AUv3 UI knob movements into the current BM3 beta. Perhaps some AU apps do not have this ability?

  • Okay since this thread has been revives, there is new king in town for filter, grind distortion.

It was old beta version he was talking about months ago and clearly stated that things could change. And they have changed.

  • Okay... I used Micro, Volcano & Dubfilter all over this track- Especially Micro...and especially on the bass guitar. Thank you all for your help here with ideas like rethinking my approach to Volcano.
