Sending Audio From/to iPad?...FX loop

Can anyone tell me...how did he do it to feed audio back into iPad?
That video is 3 years old and he's using a guitar etc, sending sound into iPad through csGrain and out to PC to record it.

In the feedback he said:
Ran Kirlian:
the camera connection kit (mine is not Apple neither) acts as a usb interface making the ipad being connected to the Lexicon Omega audio interface, which is the one that drives the audio in and out the iPad. The guitar goes to the Lexicon, which sends the audio to iPad and get it back processed (thru the usb). Then Omega output goes to the PC and recorded.

HOW DO YOU DO IT? 3 years ago?? I can send audio from iPad to PC but can't receive it back...
Any tips appreciated.
Thanks

  • He has 2 audio interfaces, omega and emu. Guitar goes to omega which is hooked to ipad via lightning to usb dongle. Gets processed by ipad and is outputted to emu interface on computer.

When you have an audio interface on ipad, the sound goes analog to its interface(obviously as it comes from computer), then is turned to digital inside the interface, then digital signal is sent to ipad via usb, processed by it and sent back via usb to the interface where its converted back to analog sound(which this guy sent to other interface where it was converted to digital by the other interface and sent to computer).

That guy isnt sending the sound back to ipad from computer, but he could easily do it by sending output of the emu hooked to computer to some inputs of the omega, and not create feedback loops with the routing ofc.

  • Thanks @ToMess I see...appreciate your reply :)
