Joking, not joking.

Scam alarm!
@BiancaNeve are you having fun?
Or what are you thinking?
Flagged.
It's a real app, i even got an email alert from audiobus about it being compatible yesterday
So you don't think it's a scam. Then buy i by all means. Or read this first.

What a piece of shit.
Define scam
It's a real app. Sure, everyone can clearly see it's designed to piggyback the real Beatmaker but it is a real app
It's not like it's a link to a phishing site or some 0-day so why flag the thread?
I have no intention of going into an argument with you about this. Buy the app an tell us what you think.
That's not an argument, though i understand why you refuse to argue your case because we both know you're abusing the flag feature
Also, wouldn't it make more sense to leave the thread up so people can actually be warned about it?
Yes I thought it was funny. But as I frequently do when I load Audiobus I clicked on the Apps button and there it was so I couldn't resist sharing as a bit of a wind up
Dwaha! Good one
Easy troll joke... Not funny, but no need to flag IMO
Would be nice to add some disclaimer on the op about the app being pretty much a scam(and devs pushing this borderline scam crap out as much as they can), so that those scammers wont get any accidental sales because of this topic.
You made me click!
There are many such apps on the store. You know your app has "made it" when one of these clowns makes a cheap knockoff. Seriously. Auxy is another one that recently joined the ranks. Congratulations to the real Beatmaker team.
This is funny except for the fact that this fake company will make money off people clicking on and buying their fake apps. $9.99 ?? LOL
I posted a link to Tims warning about this yesterday but it seems to have gotten caught in a moderator approval hole.
These type of apps exist across the board on the App Store. It doesn't matter what subject or category. Unfortunately they usually deliver some type of functionality so it's hard to argue that they're a scam.
What's frustrating to me is that they seem to prey on newbies (with promises of making them great or delivering amazing results) who may be just getting interested in a subject. It doesn't affect us directly, but imagine if your friend had a child interested in making music and they buy this app thinking it is going to be super useful. Instead your friend's kid experiences frustration and they're not even sure why. They'd be better off in almost every case with something like Auxy or Figure.
People who buy an app, especially for 10 bucks and not knowing the dev, without at least a little research, deserve what they get. There’s this thing called Google now.
Egregious display of tomfoolery
Tim Webb points out on Discchord that they even steal the FL Studio fruit icon.
I guess this happens all the time, but it seems really insulting to a company like Intua, which if nothing else is devoted to its flagship app.
On the other hand, let's say Samplr becomes abandonware. How would you feel about a company (the software equivalent of Behringer) making a reasonable facsimile but adding midi out and Link and in-app audio editing. They sell this app (Shamplr) for $9.99.
Well?
Social media generation has grown up with "fake everything". So they know how to do their research.
I don't get the Auxy connection.
So a young person who stumbles across this and thinks, maybe for the first time, "I've always wanted to try something like this" deserves to have their $10 wasted?
I don't agree and I think your reaction is overly harsh.
There's an Auxy ripoff that came out in the last year that I saw. Has the little blocks and everything.
Agreed. Somebody who has just seen a YouTube video on how you can "actually make good music" with an app goes to look for an all-in-one solution. And hey! They've heard about this Beatmaker! And THIS one is in HD!
The app looks a bit ambiguous in the "what the fok am I starin at here" sense (that middle screenshot), and the description seems a bit light on features. The company seems to be based out of Manhattan, New York, USA with catalogue of "novelty toy" apps.
So, sure, the app may be somewhat useful if you're a Youtuber looking for a real music creation challenge, but for $9.99, you can get something like Beathawk instead.
Nobody answered that question that really matters: is this app good enough (that is, provides enough functionality) for $10? If it is, it's not really a scam.
Let's say I made a video of blistering classical guitar playing with a Brazilian touch and called myself the ConacticHD. It's certainly not as good as the recordings made by person that inspired this blatant brand theft, but it's OK enough.
Is that cool with you?
Yes: do it! Kidding, but now you got the point clear: it's the brand plagiarism that is in question here, not the quality of the app. So it's not exactly a scam anyway, and that's what I was saying - which obviously doesn't mean it's "cool". It's more like a ripoff, an imitation of a product.
EDIT: but THIS makes clear it is indeed not just a ripoff, but a classic scam: http://www.pantsofdeath.com/the_new_pants/?p=613
