Chordflow n00b question

I'm enjoying this (a little late to the party, I know), but am puzzled. I like the fact that you can chain together sections into a type of song mode, but cannot find how I can copy, say, Section A into Section B. I have a lovely sequence and would like to simply copy into a new section and then change the key, but cannot figure out how. Surely? Right? Must be possible. No doubt just missing a long press or a magic word. Any kind soul care to enlighten me?

Comments

  • Nope not missing anything, it's not possible.

BUT there is a ray of hope that it will be soon.

  • Yup, he has a long todo list

As i understand it he used the minimum viable product approach, which is the one that makes the most sense for a single developer. From what i gather Chordflow has sold a decent amount so i expect we'll see lots of new features down the line

  • I'm looking forward to separate midi outputs per colour.

I'm going to get this today. The dev seems responsive to adding copying in, but even without it I think it could be a useful thing.

  • Thanks @BiancaNeve, @jn2002dk, sometimes I would prefer just to be useless and for the truth to be staring me in the face, ah well. Nice little app, and worth having ( @MonzoPro ) BUT THE DEV MUST ADD THE ABILITY TO COPY....especially as recreating a complex pattern is not at all straightforward....

Yeah I thought it'd be tricky replicating the patterns by hand. I'm still going to give it a whirl though, being able to automate the chord and section changes means I can have it ticking along, while I play other stuff live over the top.

  • Bought. I like it - copy and paste is pretty essential really, but I'm going to use this a lot even without it.

    Simple, but cool.

Agreed. It's just that I am really trying (me, me, me) to work on things that have more shape, length, beginning, middle, end etc. and thus it's a completely different app, to me, without the ability to replicate. All good.

Yeah I do agree. Fingers crossed the dev realises the full potential of the thing. Swing mode would be good too.

Just had it running Moog Model, Nave, ReSlice and iM1 - sounded like a 70's synth album.

  • Yes developer said section cloning is coming. I also would like to see an undo button.

I've been running ChordFlow through GeoShred... loving it!

Good to hear about the replicate. Going to put it back in the shed for now and wait and see. As for an undo button completely agree, always needed, but it's so easy to go off in the wrong direction here that at least a base undo would make a huge difference...
