LumaFusion version 1.3 is out!
With project archiving, finally! Enough said,
Comments
...and it works great!
Indeed! Hopefully, they'll add iTunes file sharing archiving as well as cloud-based project archiving, but it's already nice and well implemented, and hopefully I can claim back a lot of storage.
This app is surprisingly good
Anyone find a good/simple way to import AVCHD files? I have the Sony a6000 and NEX 7 cameras and have been stymied trying to get the files into LF on my iPad Pro 12.9".
The preset saving and sharing is the biggest one to me. Now I can finally apply the same color correction to multiple clips without having to go back and forth checking values. Woohoo. Great update.
Apple should just add a (micro) sd card slot and the possibility to use a keyboard with a touchpad to iOS devices, both are for probably most users the way to go when you think of iPad Pro.
I can't believe LumaFusion does not support Apple's iCloud Drive yet! iOS 10.3 has been out for some time now; and it is supposed to improve file management.
They support everybody else's cloud storage but Apple's: DropBox, Box, Google Drive and OneDrive. Why doesn't Apple insist, or help developers to support iCloud Drive?
Cubasis archives entire projects on iCloud Drive by Zipping all the files in the project and uploads it to iCloud Drive; and then restoring the entire project by un-zipping the archive file on the fly to use again.
I can transfer all kinds of files, effortlessly between my Mac and my iPad Pro. It is built into the Finder of a Mac; and the iCloud Drive app is ready on the iPad.
It supports iCloud drive, but it's fully integrated with iCloud drive. This is just an apparent paradox, @bsantoro. Despite not having integration, you can still save the entire project to iCloud drive by choosing "Other App/Airdrop" and then, after the project bundle is written, open in iCloud. To import from iCloud, you can do it as well, but from iCloud drive itself: select the project, use "Open In", select LumaFusion.
According to the developer, iCloud Drive doesn't yet support multi-selecting of media for file import (just one file at a time).
So they've elected to defer until that's addressed
iCloud Drive is always full.
Archive via Other App / Airdrop to the FileBrowser app, pointed at my external hard drive, attached to my HooToo router = Terabytes of space with no added cost. Beautiful.
Thanks @theconnactic. This is great! It worked with a small project, but froze-up with a very large project that had a few missing links. I had to force quit the app. Maybe all the links have to be entact before it can export the project?
After several hours, 30 less projects in LumaFusion - safely backed up in my Mac's Time Machine now - and almost 200GB of storage reclaimed, all I can say is: thank you, LumaTouch! Better late than never!
For your info, I managed to devise a trick to export the projects to the Mac using iFunBox instead of cloud-based solutions, which could be handy for people like me, with poor upload speed connections (but do it at your own peril, and don't blame me if you lose everything): I export each project, select "Other App" and let the "Writing Project" process to finish, but don't choose anything in the dialogue box that opens; instead I open iFunbox->App File Sharing->LumaFusion->Export and drag the .spryzip file to the folder I want in my Mac. Then I simply tap "cancel" in the Uploading Project dialogue box and repeat for each project. It's important not to click the dialogue box or cancel before the transfer is finished, otherwise LumaFusion will clean up the folder and you will have to start over.
Thanks for the tip. I think![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
