I hear you. Ever since SoundCloud changed direction to a streaming premium service it's been a chore doing what used to be a breeze.
I just signed up for the SoundCloud GO+ tier (they had a 3 months for $1 promo, I figure I'll cancel if the regular price is too strong) and even as a premium user the iOS & Android apps are severely gimped.
The experience on desktop isn't much better...
I've all but given up on it now. Binned the pro account when groups went. YouTube for me now.
