Video...DrumPerfect Pro Setting Up And Building A Song From Scratch

DrumPerfect Pro can seem a little overwhelming at first so in this video tutorial I just go from absolute scratch and show how to build your song wilt different kits, patterns and tempos and get them all into one track to export, plus I go through some other stuff about DPP too.

  • This was brilliantly tremendous. Back-to-the-studs-basic as regards 'getting started' but without it I had been fumbling and bumbling. Well done Sir Doug.

  • Great video, the "press tap 3 seconds to set global tempo" trick is exactly what I was missing in this app. I will reuse it for my next song, thanx again !

Great work, Doug. I've had this app for ages, and recognise its quality, but always found it hard going. No more!

  • Nice video Doug. I think you could zoom a bit more to the iPad from your camera. I enable zoom (1.5x) on my iPad as a workaround ;)

Exactly. This is the kind of thing that you can't know if you don't know etc etc.

  • Very useful. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks Doug, you've helped me over the hurdle with this app which I've owned for a while but never done much with. I can see it becoming my main drum app from now on and I've purchased a couple more packs to move me forward.

  • Those intimidated by DrumPerfect Pro's GUI or overwhelming list of features NEED to watch this tutorial from Doug.

He explains & demonstrates the power of the app beautifully. When I first got the original DrumPerfect this would have been a Godsend but I had to grind it out myself.

It's not that Marinus made the app too difficult to use, on the contrary once the basics are learned it's very easy to use. He just made the app as robust as any of the big name acoustic"real" drum programs.

It doesn't have a coloful eye candy GUI that sucks resources- that power is saved for what the application was created for, extremely realistic drum parts.

Thanks Doug for demonstrating how this beast can be tamed.

    Seconded.

  • Thanks everyone, I will do a few more of theses basic set ups for this and other apps, it's grea that you all found it useful. Part of the beauty of DrumPerfect is that once you have a grasp of getting a song going you can just go on and on and on getting deeper and deeper, main thing to remember is SAVE EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME

  • Really liked the video Sir Doug.

  • Thx so much Doug. Can finally open this bad boy without doubt.

  • Anyone find this? Hidden live-pad

Tapping the space besides (sic) the Room control, either left or right, brings up the live-pad, similar to the one in Pattern view. This way, instruments can easily be auditioned. Tapping the space again brings back the various kit/instrument buttons.

    Good sleuthing there.
