The Basics of TC-Data (a PDF Guide)

A simple guide to hopefully bridge the learning gap a bit:
The Basics of TC-Data

Some other PDF guides I did if you're not caught up:
iMS-20
Model 15
iWAVESTATION

TC-Data is one of the more fascinating apps out there. If you're into modular synths this will be right up your alley. In fact use the TC-Data to control the Model 15 and things will begin to happen.

Thanks, that's going to come in handy when I revisit TC Data over the next few weeks.

  • I should emphasize, using the "Preview" window to test patches as you go along is big. It allows you to see everything happening upon input, and some things I could not yet figure out even after consulting the manual.

  • well done, sums up the essentials to get going B)
the bottomline is great, too - just start buliding with one parameter after the other
explore things and your personal knowledgebase will quickly grow - and then the app's use is a no brainer (imho it's one of the essential iPad tools that fully exploit touch capabilities)

  • Thank you!

  • Well done that man!

  • Excellent - thanks a lot!

  • Excellent! Thank you @1P18 I will be perusing this & your other guides :)

Thanks again, wishing you all the best!

Yeah the expressive potential becomes apparent rather quickly, even on the little "Preview" screen, and even after building with just a few parameters. It's like an X/Y pad from the year 3612.

  • Thanks! Good starting guides.A lot of times how much I use and like a app is determined by the doc. This really will help get me get more into these synth apps. I bought the model 15, but still need to upgrade to an iPad I can run it on. Come on Apple, release the new iPads already. SHM.

  • My favorite right now, the double sequencer. Not quite as cool as the double neck guitar:

    But still pretty cool.

  • Great work. Thanks very much for this.

  • Missed the model 15 one before. Nice! My brain would be real happy if Moog allowed for a second, color coded skin.

  • Thanks, compact info!

When it comes to the Model 15 I am torn: It sounds great, but the UI lost some potential functionality when they chose to mimic the real thing. Fortunately it's not too complicated of a synth.

  • The TC Data pdf link doesn't appear to work anymore. Anyone able to upload it somewhere please? Or send me a simple "how-to" guide for TC Data? Many thanks

You've just reminded me about this actually. I got it before I really understood midi so I sort of forgot about it.
Might be time to revisit it!
