OT - Arturia V Collection 5 is 50% Off Until May 31st for NI Users

edited May 2017 in Other

I just received an email about this special NI offer for the Arturia V Collection 5 for $249 (or $99 for upgrade) It ends on 5/31.

https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/komplete/nks-special-arturia/?uuh=b085116dabb216278b08c5c0a65cdbe1&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Arturia+NKS+special+for+non+owners+++c=nks+b=Komplete+t=Sales_Special_PD

I'm not sure what the requirement is to get it. I don't know whether you need to own NI hardware or whether NI software is enough.

This is something that might have interested me a lot at one time. Many of these instruments have tremendous sentimental value for me. I played in bands with a few of them. Some of them were fantasy instruments. I remember the first time I was in a studio and I actually saw a Synclavier (after years of looking at in in Keyboard). I also like having VI's with NKS as I have an NI controller.

But I honestly don't know much about how well they recreate the sounds of these classic synths and instruments, how good the presets are, and how robust they are.

Of course those of us in the forum are very familiar with Arturia instruments. I do like my iSEM but I've heard mixed things about the others.

Anybody have this package? Your thoughts?

    Then let's have an IOS verion then! As well as their much requested CS-80.

  • Thanks. I'm thinking I will wait until this deal comes around again.

  • I seem to recall that as an Arturia Beatstep owner (first model bought used at Guitar Center) I had an opportunity to buy the previous version (missing a few of the new models) for $99. This came via a coupon emailed from Arturia. I never played any of the originals, but I enjoyed moving through the massive number of presets to get a taste of what they sounded like. That be another way to tackle this potential purchase.

  • Love all the Arturia apps (a little less the iProphet, until it gets the analogue side :-)) so got a keylab 49 and a cheap offer of the V4 collection. It's fab. On iOS, Moog model 15 covers some of the modular synths, but please please pleeeeaaaase Arturia, CS80 on iOS pleeeeaaaassse. Used to be sceptical of the CS80's legendary status, and started playing cs80V thinking 'this is a home organ', then spent hours in synth heaven. Oh I'm sorry... I've just...

    To the OP, as hinted at by @TrustButVerify , check out offers that come with hardware. I got the V4 for the upgrade price, because the keylab 49 producer bundle had the mini V included. So £170 (keyboard)+ £99 (upgrade miniV to V collection 4) = £269 compared to whatever full price was (can't remember tbh, but I got a decent K-Board for a couple of tenners effectively)
