Lumafusion Video performance - featuring gadget, aum and voice harmony
Just bought lumafusion last night And am really liking it. Very limited experience doing anything with video but everything seems pretty straightforward and easy. Looking forward to using it a lot.
Track is basically gadget. About 5 bilbao tracks for drums, lexicon for bass, a synth stem from a previous recording of the song in a zurich, and a xynthesizr recording i brought in.
Aum running this along with an input for my nord electro and my vocal, which is going through aum's
Safurator and hipass filter into voice harmony. This app is fantastic i think, i am underusing it here because i'm concentrating on too many things but sounds pretty good.

Nice. I like the 'snappy' drums, did you import your own samples into Bilbao?
Thanks. Yeah, the only gadget drum sounds i really use are tokyo's snare and percussion sometimes but i have bilbao sets loaded with my preferred sounds.
messing a little more with luma,...any tips on how to edit multiple camera angles so that they all start at the click, and then i can bring in say camera 2 at 1:30 etc just by looking for the exact time.? right now i lined up the 3 on the 3 video channels and cut in and out, and even did the cuts this way, but i realize now i should have everything on one for the transitions to be better. would i edit the start of the long clips out of luma or inside luma? @skiphunt any tips?
Hey,
I took off for the beach and am now camping. Headed back soon though.
I'm not clear on what you're trying to do, but try the LumaTouch forum. Also, if you can fit the question into a tweet, you'll get even faster reply from their twitter feed.
I liked your video and sound. Would agree that maybe pull back a bit on effects because I think you have a decent singing voice and it's getting too muffled in effects.
The tune is good but I think the arrangement could use a bit more dynamics at the changes. Overall, very good. IMHO
Thanks. I'll check luma's forum but let me clarify my question.... when working with a few full length camera takes, do you edit those to have the same start elsewhere? maybe even in the own photos app (i used an action board so i have the image as well as audio clap on all of them) before bringing in to your editor? I'm thinking that if they are all equal length and i need camera 3 to take over camera 2 at a specific time i can have more freedom and just grab that instance from another take tather than lining all 3 up and using my 3 available video channels.
There are several ways to skin the cat, but what I'd likely do is decide which of the 3 full takes had the most usable content. I'd then add the other 2 takes on layers on top of that. If you have slate to sync with, I'd sync them all up. I'd then turn off the other 2 layers and playback the 1st layer and mark the spots in the layer that I'd like to cut away to something else. At those marks, I'd turn on/off layers 2 & 3 to see if one of the other takes is better. Then, I'd use the razor tool to cut out the parts of layers 2 & 3 that I wasn't going to use while leaving layer 1 intact. This way everything stays in sync.
as a cat owner and lover i'm a little appalled at your choice of words but ....
yeah, that's what i did here but then all 3 video channels are full. i'm going to try to pre-edit the slate times so i can time stamp the takes and then just pull in. thanks.
Yes. It was a joke. Our cat is like our child. Maybe I should've said something like "more than one way to skin a dingus." But, that might've offended all the dingus lovers here.
What I would do is what I outlined... but maybe after you've got all 3 picture layers and pieces where you want, use the razor on the first layer, and insert the pieces from 2 & 3 into the slots you razor-cut out of layer 1. That'll free up the other 2 layers.
I'd save a version pre-compiling.
Or, unless I'm mistaken... I think the 3 layer limit is only for 4k. I think you get 5 layers for 1080p.
