Hey Guys Do you know of an iOS beat machine that has these features, I'm looking for recommendations

looking for something that has these capabilities as features without having to resort to work-arounds
I realize I could pull up Hokusai or twisted wav and use garage band to fandango just about anything
but that's not the route I'm looking to take, just trying to find an app that has these specific features
in one app. I thought I knew of most of the beat machines but there have been so many apps out lately
that I didn't know anything about maybe someone's got a lead?

  1. tempo automation
  2. time signature automation
  3. record program changes and patch info into the sequencer
  4. mute and solo recording of pads, and tracks
  5. independent loop-able track lengths
  6. midi merge/ convert all midi sequences into one
  7. custom midi note assignment
  8. explode track (separate all elements of a track unto their own tracks)
  9. sample slicing
  10. uncomplicated workflow (that ones subjective of course)

I like 8. I need this ability in my own life.

does wonders for workflow/creativity too :) At first I only used it to separate drum hits in sequences to different tracks but now I use it in so many ways it's become vital. gotta find it in iOS

  • Number 8 number 8. That would be really great but I've not found a beat machine that can be programmed and then reassemble. Let me know if you do.

  • I meant to say be exploded and then reassemble. Thanks.

for sure man, I'm on the hunt like Elmer Fudd , it's like having a sample slicer for midi right next to your sample slicer for audio!

As far as I know, iOS beatmachines have (maybe) three out of these 10 features

You may have to go the route of B. Disraeli who said: "when I want to use a good beat machine, I code one" or something to that effect.

  • All of this sounds great. I wish there were an app like this. I know that's not very helpful.

  • I wanna add explode loop to KRFT soon. Yummy.

Benny D. He had a lot of things to say. Bright little button. Many, many of them have remained modern which is often the test of things related to human character. Not the least of which (for me) is: My idea of an agreeable person is a person who agrees with me. He would have done just fine on the internet...

man are you kidding :) if I could code I would have already coded you guys up the creamiest sampling beat machines for free..... alas unfortunately that path wasn't for me. There is still hope though, In all of the wonderfulness coming down the pike we still have whatever J Lilla comes up with in the distant horizon. He's a quiet one but I'll be damned if he doesn't do his thing eventually and do it quite well. I know from conversations with him that he knows how to do it too and I have a private piggy bank on the shelf collecting pennies for however much he wants to charge... it will not matter because I will buy.

but you never know what is lurking on iOS as some of these devs don't advertise their wares very well. I remember when protein Der Klang dropped and I was blown away. It was the only thing on iOS that could re-sample on the fly, in play, and fly the sample right into the music and til this day I've never heard anybody talk about that. some of these devs definitely need to toot their horns a bit more!

:) and many quote him without ever knowing it, in that sense he is indeed doing nicely on the 'net

Protein Der Klang was both dope and deep...a lot of what you're looking for is actually built into Genome, though hardly a beat machine it does have onboard synth and synth drum. It seems right now closest might be Genome+BM2...

  • something has got to happen, genome +bm3 is just too far a bridge, but it looks like intua is not averse to change when it's for good reason. After bm3 comes out I will start to lobby them. You'd think it would be a zillion choices as it's 2017 and everybody considers the mpcs obsolete, yet they can do everything on that list and on processors much weaker than iOS (mpc 1000/2500,) I guess what looks like the past to some looks like the future to others but for me it's just standard stuff.....if a dev like retronyms is charging 12 bucks for the impc pro, I'd be willing to pay takete prices for the right dev to just put those features in an app, I feel like El Gregoloco, it's frustrating.

  • has Sample Lab been abandoned?

    @kobamoto
It's still in my purchases but not on the store anymore, website's down...
I stripped the samples using my install on iPad 1 and iMagix...but put it back on the Air2 just now. Still works....

  • time to give it another go, I think.
