  • I like the UI of TJ don't get me wrong. But at home I rather use my external midi controller a small Axiom Air mini 32 key controller. I usually use one of the knobs or even a rotary controller on my midi controller keyboard to modulate stuff. But I can't find what setting TJ would allow me to midi learn that option. Hope I made more sense. :) All this midi stuff drives me crazy.

  • What you are looking for is what in most synths the mod wheel does - basically an LFO on pitch. When I first developed TJ and realized how much more natural and direct using the accelerometer was to do vibrato, letting you directly and humanly vary the depth and rate I didn't even bother implementing an LFO-version of it. But I can see that if you aren't using the interface and stuck with a regular keyboard, it would be a useful thing to include.

There is no great solution in the meantime, one thing you could try if you had a controller that sent channel-pressure, is to go in TJ's midi prefs and turn on use channel pressure (pitch), which would let you manually bend the pitch up or down (with invert option) when applying channel pressure. It isn't LFO based, but more keyboard controllers at least have channel pressure to let you be more human about it.

  • Thank so much for your explanation :).

  • My 0.02$, as a sax player...
From online demos, iFretless Sax doesn’t sound that good to my ear but iFretless Brass is rather decent. The effect with TingJing MIDI Rotator really makes it sound like a brass ensemble.

  • Thanks, been looking at that one too.
