Yes that's all very nice, but HAVE YOU FIXED THE ROTATION BUG?

  • Ms Obama

  • I also would like to know if the 10.5 still have the same resolution than the 9.7.
So the 12.9" still has the advantage of the optimzed for big screen GUI (if developers use that).

  • They didn't say if the 12.9 was getting the same camera did they

  • Files. That looks like some kind of alriiight :+1:

Not sure. I would wait for the first benchmarks to see if the RAM is the same.
I take it back, i would prefer the 12.9" to get the most possible performence on iOS.
But then if the 10.5" had also 4GB RAM (or did they even increase the RAM on the A10X?) it could perform better because of the smaller resolution.
Multi-tasking should be better on the big one.
    Damn, i don't know!

Of the features they announced I meant. In that regard it's all the same.

No one knows Ram and CPU specifics etc...

Sitting in one of those club type places in Houston airport reading all this stuff, there was no room out amongst the sofas etc so we took over the couches/having a nap area (and who else would want to be in here now with The Kid thumping away on his iPad screen at some drum death battle thing?). Laughed out loud at this ROTATION BUG! comment. Would have chipped in good money to have sent you there to sit in the front row with a fake press pass and shout this out at an appropriate moment. Still pretty good :)

  • Still has the head jack I believe so that's a plus. Files is good and notes update is major with drag and drop. Hopefully the speaker sounds da decent for a home system.

  • I looked at the specs in the Apple Store and it seems the 10.5" has another resolution to support now (of course between the 9.7 and 12.9). Is that a good idea!
But at least one answer for me. The 12.9" still has the highest resolution and could show more if developers optimize the GUi.

  • So 30% more cpu (so the one one core more....i only count the main load cores here) and 40% GPU increase.
    The prices are O.K.
I would prefer a new Macbook Pro 15" but with 512GB it cost me 3299€ OMG:
An 512GB iPad pro 12.9" cost me 1219-1379(cellular). Not cheap too for what it does.
Have to win the lottery :o

Looks like it still has the jack https://www.apple.com/ca/ipad-pro/specs/

  • So frustrating they hide the RAM.

If the 10.5" will have also just 2GB RAM it will loose a bit performance since it has to drive more pixels yet.
I see 5 days to delivering. So it will took 5 days until the first benchmarks.
I hope some will do the test before.
Who knows, maybe the 12.9" even increased the RAM?

  • So in general the new iPads are not close to a maxed Surface.
Of course the multi-touch apps are still better (mostly).

  • So who purchases Apple Care as well when they get a new iPad?

Definitely. They don't repair iPads they replace them and they aren't cheap. With AppleCare the replacement cost is $49

  • So no mouse support.....no post PC yet :)

Four ipads, two phones and I never bought apple care. With the money I saved I can buy a new ipad. :)

I was hoping it would be a mini pro this year... looks like a 9.7 or 10.5 in a couple years. I will just wait for all the apps to support 'files' and for the kinks to be worked out.

The fact Apple doesn't list it's specs on RAM belies their market targeting than anything else. Soccer Mom's and spoiled Millennials are more concerned with price & screen size...

I want the Pro 10.5". When that was rumoured I felt it's more manageable for me than the 12.9" and now that it won't be gimped or made a second Pro I'm totally salivating for it.

The screen is the only difference and since I really dig my current Air 2's size, the extra bit of space will be more of a bonus than the feeling of carrying around a kitchen LCD TV screen (sorry, I've messed with the 12.9" and while I certainly wouldn't refuse one gifted or found on the sidewalk, it's just too big.)

Apple listened and didn't shit the bed here: keeping the headphone jack, the new File management app, Drag & Drop are all excellent choices, and iOS 11 WITH a Pro looks awesome. iOS 11 with anything older? I'm not going to risk it, it will take a litany of great feedback for me to trust the jump & not doom my Air 2 to iOS 11 like many iPad 2 & 3 owners did with jumps to 7, 8 & 9.

Since my 64GB Air 2 is constantly under 3GB free with many apps I like (Maschine 2, etc.) forced to stay unused in the cloud, I want the 256GB 10.5". Apple is keeping with their weird storage level availability. To me starting with 64GB's for the Pro's seems very weird, 128GB would be obvious.

Overall, not too bad... actually quite impressed.

BTW I too guffawed at @MonzoPro's rotation bug comment, it doesn't pop up very often for me but occasionally it does... you'd think a year later they would've caught it.
