Which app for my 18 month kid?

Lately i find him leaving his YT lullabies and launching and playing with sample tank on his own. This fills me with joy and hooking up my midi piano is a no-brainer. But I'm wondering what app might be a fun surface for him? Although I've been doing ios music a while now, i still haven't gotten into the gestural stuff yet. Any suggestions that may accomodate the both of us?

  • My 2 year old loves TC11

  • Some fun apps which are music and touch related are:

    Loopimal

    The Tune ZOO

    Figure

    LaunchPad

I am sure there are a million others, but these really resonated with my 2 boys.

    Have fun :)

  • Bebot is the one you want!!!

OMG Yeah, Mikey loves the busy beavers! He's been watching them for many months, so he doesn't remain engaged long like he once did. But they are great and seems to have a head start with speech because of them. BTW, isn't their music awesome?! I love their songs and covers!! My favorite of all the childrens' songs. It's cool watching baby Jessie play in her dad's studio.

    Visuamusio

  • Barefoot Workd Atlas when they're a bit older.

  • Impaktor maybe?

  • Oh music apps. I missed that.

  • In 6 months I'm gonna find out @Blipsford_Baubie's 2 year old is more prolific than I am when he releases his new EP on Bandcamp...

  • Loopseque kids

  • Nodebeat is lots of fun. It even has a child lock making settings inaccessible

  • Another generation wasted.

Definitely Launchpad, both my 2 year old grand daughters love it, but only for 10 minutes at a time.....
Perhaps if @blocsxnovation made some limited license Kids TV based packs...
Dora the Explorer and Peppa Pig for example....

I promise I wont abuse it and have Daddy Pig MC'ing to dubstep :D

P.S. My Singing Monsters for those slightly older kids ;)

  • But really, I'm not sure who loves Bebot more: my 2 year old or me.

Not music related, but when the kiddo is a little older get Endless Alphabet. My son loved it, gave him lots of practice associating letters with the sound they make.

  • Impaktor
    NodeBeat
    ThumbJam
    TC 11
and of course, the ultimate app for children of all ages...
    The Mighty BEBOT!

It's been a while since I had kids your age. But I seem to recall a strict prohibition on letting kids under 2 have screen time. I have to say, there's plenty of time for your kids to play with electronics. Once they're in, they are IN.

American Association of Pediatrics says to wait until they're 2 years old.

Whenever I am in one of my "dark dark black Russian" moods, a minute or so of Bebot lifts me right out of the gloom.
    I love that little guy!

  • I forgot Elsa.
All kids love samplers for the possibilities of silliness and naughtiness.

  • IKaossilator of course.

  • Looptunes. My kids have been playing with it since they’ve been 1 years old.

  • Kaosillator is the app my kids love

Thank you for the tip. I work with children with autism. Best to your son,
