BeatMaker 2 v2.5 Coming Soon

Good news for BeatMaker 2 users: a short post from Intua on their forum indicates that version 2.5 is just around the corner!

We are working on 2.5, running in the last stage of development.
I think you will all like this update ! Stay tuned, we'll announce the feature list soon.

I don't know what to expect from this update, but the addition of AudioCopy 2 and iOS7 inter-app audio would be really great.

  • And being able to remove all the crap samples and insert our own! That way I can reinstall it without it being a space hog and use the things I do like; Keyboard Mapper/Sampler, Chop Lab, Sequencer. Would be so nice and I suppose could happen because its been talked about a lot lately

  • Please fix Midi. I notice a drift when synched to Auria.

  • If they make it easier to import, give us the option to get rid of the inbuilt samples so it doesn't take up so much damn room, and generally improve the UI, I may start using it again over Cubasis. But it will have to be damn good to usurp Cubasis for me.

  • Don't know how I missed that on Intua forum!
Looking forward to midi sync getting sorted :-)

  • @JMSexton If they made it so that I can remove the crap samples, I'd reinstall it again! :-) BM2 has the best sampler available to date.

  • Hopefully they've made deleting a track less of a riddle.

  • @AudioJunkie - Agreed! I too have deleted it simply because of the amount of space it takes

  • Hoo boy! Performance and UI improvements would be my biggest requests. I wonder if they're going to bring a synth in just to keep up with the Jones'.

  • I'd rather they rework the GUI in order to keep up with the joneses. ;-)

  • I hope they sort out audio so we can audio past directly into tracks and move the audio between
    Tracks like Auria.

  • @Multitouch that's pretty hilarious. I didn't even realize that problem was there. Just opened the app and had to test and got that error message. I'm sure I've seen it before, but it was a surprise this time again. Funny how your mind just learns to block stuff out and work aournd it I guess. Most of my track shuffling happens in Auria after it gets recorded in BM2 anyway. Still, funny.

  • Probably too little too late for this cowboy.

Am I missing something with BeatMaker 2 ?

I cannot get its keyboard sampler or tracks to send MIDI to some apps, so I cannot sequence those apps. The iMini issue is a known problem. Recently, M3000HD and Super Manetron were updated with virtual MIDI, but they don't respond... These apps respond automatically in Cubasis, for example, when the track is set to Virtual MIDI. All settings in BM are correct, they are shown in BMs MIDI panel.

  • I've had BM working and sending midi to Nave for sure (& I think Magellan if memory serves me right...)

@FRibeiro you need the FreeWi app (or MidiBridge). iMini will listen and BM2 will send to FreeWi.

  • FRibeiro I haven't any problems sending midi out to other synth apps, works a treat! :-)

  • Thanks for your advices!

I think MidiBridge would be the solution, but it's an odd case anyway.
It happens only with a few apps, including those I've mentioned.

  • Been considering to buy midi bridge, hoping though that the new ios will solve some of the problems with midi.
