The holy trinity. Great news! Big thing for me is that it's universal too.

I think I'm in love. Multiple Redshrike and Laplace are heavenly. If Lorentz and Mersenne appear I would be lost for days in a world of sound.....

  • And it's now universal!

  • One lovely thing about the Aux version is that it uses Redshrike scrolling GUI. Meaning you can turn these tiny controls.....

    Into GIGANTIC ONES in AUM

  • Great :) Built in midi learn too so can midi learn in Audiobus 3 as well as AUM.

    Yep :)

  • Brilliant, nice little synth this.

  • 2 x Laplace in AUM is really nice.

  • Can anyone try to sum up what this gives me that Redshrike does not already give me? Looking at the controls it seems like this is more along the lines of Zed Synth?

while they share similarities they don't sound identical. Redshrike is a bit more of a shrieking synth. Laplace is more of a string instrument that while can shriek qute a bit doesn't do it as much as redshrike. hope that helps.

Might have to bite on Mersenne..

Already have Lorentz though, definitely looking forward to exploring that more!

@OscarSouth I like them all but mersenne is indispensable to me. An absolute must if you use tuned percussion a lot. The presets are soaked in effects so I had to tweak my patches but the UI is super easy to dial in the sound you hear in your head. Fingers crossed on AU and universal!

  • no update yet in my app store

  • Awesome!
My ultimate dream is to see Cassini as an AUV3. A man can dream...

So true. Mersenne is also really good for acoustic-like bass sounds.

  • Nice update, but make a backup of your user presets before updating. Mine have been deleted after the update.

    Thanks for the tip.

My presets are still there, but got moved to User>Old Version Presets.

They fixed the effects section, so you can change the dry/wet mix on the effects, without opening the effects window. That and AU makes this a very potent update! One of my longtime favorite ios synths.

Have you looked in the User folder? There should be an (Old Version Presets) folder there.

This update is fantastic (as listed):

    • Universal App : Optimized for iPad and iPhone
    • Audio Unit Extensions (AUv3) compatible
    • Support for Audiobus State Saving
    • Exporting and importing of presets via Share extensions
    • Swing parameter in the arpeggiator
    • Improved MIDI mapping function
    • Support for Bluetooth MIDI Devices

Plus there are a bunch of other little improvements:

    • Vibrato is now controlled with a separate LFO from the main LFO so you can have a fast vibrato and a slow morphing of other parameters
    • Pitchbend Range is now on the main screen (in the slide out drawer that now holds the Octave and Glide controls) and you can set independent values for pitch up and pitch down
    • Effects now have their Dry/Wet knobs on the front panel and their controls are consolidated to one window
    • multiple MIDI mappings can be created
    • both MIDI mappings and Arpeggiator can now be saved with the preset and exported easily with the new Share extensions (but you can also override their loading if you want)

The only crappy thing is it looks like I'll have to redo my MIDI mappings for ModStep.... at least they'll be easier to export and load now.

  • Big update! Thanks for AUv3, bluetooth midi and midi mapping!

Pllleeeeeaaasse tell me this has program change now??

Mersenne with midi preset-switching is one of my top iOS wishes, so having it here would be a good sign.

    ?

Just downloaded the Laplace update and doesn't appear to have PC. Neithr available in AU format either. Shame.

Lots of nice stuff in the update though.

  • Hey,

Is anyone experiencing low volume from this? I must set high master volume, high preset volume and high volume in host mixer in order to get decent volume for some of the presets..

  • This may be the weird buffer size problem people have mentioned before ewirh ice works synths. Are you using AUM? If so, you may need to go into the standalone app, change buffer size to match what you are using in AUM, then try reloading the app in AUM

Actually I’m running it inside NanoStudio2 with buffer latency setting on “high”. Tried changing the buffer size (256,512,1024) but that had no effect on volume. Guess I’m just gonna have to set all volume knobs to high levels ...
