Takete live tutorial / Q&A - your suggestions...
I'm planning to do a live tutorial and Q&A of Takete soon. Opening the discussion to take suggestions for topics...

Great idea. Make sure you record it as well for reference.
Thanks for asking, yes, great idea.
I have real trouble making video loops sync with the beat of the sequencer. Everything to do with this would be interesting to me, Edit start and end frames of video clips, the relationship with the numbers in the video screen have to musical timing, how to speed up and slow down the videos to match the beat.
For example, I have a video of a guy dancing, I would love to be able to set the speed and loop start and end so that his feet hit the floor in time with the beat and then the loop stays in sync. I have difficulty doing this and its probably the no one reason I dont spend more time with the app.
Oh, and any tutorial about how to get the most out of the synth. Is it possible to get a bass sound out of it for example? Im not sure granulars stabs and basses so well but Im happy to be corrected.
the different blending options for video would be nice
That kind of tight sync of videos isn't really available at this stage. I did start working on it but got distracted by other features. I'd be happy to look into it again though - it's very doable and I'd be happy to do it if it will be used.
The granular can really be used for anything (I use it for basslines and much more) - I think focusing on that would be a fun session - for me too
Got this app years ago, full price. Still most expensive app I ever bought. Never "got it" like I wanted.
Are you planning an update?
Glad to see you are involved and willing to do this. Very cool. Very brave.
When are you thinking?
I think you may be so familiar with the app you take it for granted how complicated it can seem. I am not a moron by any means, but, it isn't always the most intuitive as far as functionality. Which is all good, as long as it is explained.
How about this, you start with a blank project. You create a track from scratch. Like import loops, the whole
thing. Use 2 instances of the Granular Synth, 3 external loops, and like 3 instances of the sequencing matrix.
Perhaps that way you can have people bring up issues as it is done. You may be surprised to see some common denominator issues users have. It may lead to app design improvements.
I know it is an open design, but I think you doing a track could allow us as users to see the "rules"and techniques for approaching Takete the best way to make the most out of the app.
How many of what things are allowed? Where are they allowed? Blah Blah
Will this app ever get AU or IAA host options?
Just some thoughts.
I wonder how many of us there are?
One of this Apps, i Never find a way in, or a good Workflow.
Hey, really happy to hear about this. Thanks.
Will this be a live stream? Something we could follow along and ask questions as you go?
Or more of a walk-through tutorial where we see the process from start to finish?
Either one would be super helpful, I'll look forward to seeing whatever you come up with.
I'm thinking both - looks like there is quite a bit of interest in doing a walkthrough of constructing a session from scratch. I will probably do that and try to address any questions that come up during the live stream.
I've been busy with other projects over the last few months but am devoting more time to Takete once again so hopefully I can do these events semi-regularly.
@RefinedStTech
Cool that you're planning to go live with a tutorial, and cool too that you stopped by here to check in for ideas...
One question I've got that I may not have a chance to ask live, how does one chain video clips, that is launch one that when it loops once then launches the next, then the next, each in turn, a domino type thing...?
That functionality doesn't exist in Takete at the moment.
Thanks, that's explains why I haven't been able to figure out how to do it...
It's a Marvelous application.
this is happening tomorrow - 12pm AEST

Since that will be 3am BST I will look out for the recorded version I think.
the recorded version is up

Possibly make recorded version available on your YouTube channel? (I'm not on FB)
it's coming, but you should be able to see that without having fb.
All I get is
The link you followed may have expired, or the Page may only be visible to an audience that you aren't in.
Thanks for this
Looks like a great tutorial RST
Thanks for that lots of useful information.
Me neither
Youtube chant starts!
Errrrrrrrr the video a couple of posts back IS YouTube.......
Got it.
VID is awesome.
I am like 40% into it going step by step and GETTING SOOOOOOOO MUCH OUT OF IT!
Does Refined get into deleting clips/pads?
How about multiple midi controllers?
Or is there a MIDI learn for the grid that I can use my Launchpad Pro to trigger clips?
When using Matrix sequencer, how do you, where do you set bar/loop length?
@RefinedStTech Very useful. Im getting some nice bass sounds from the granular synth at last. Looking forward to some video tips.
@rustik its here, in the edit clip next to the controller. Ive got the matrix set to 4 bars ......

Gracias
Has anyone used the Recorder instrument to record a loop from playing the granular synth via touch and using that as a new loop in the piece?
