  • Yes. I applied

Do you know someone who also wants to be making electronic music, but is currently not?

Yes, me. I'm currently too busy scouring the Audiobus forum, downloading new apps, fretting over IAPs, reorganizing my app folders, testing workflows, figuring out routings and browsing through presets.

  • i double posted my phones fault lol

  • That's rad!

  • Do you know someone who also wants to be making electronic music, but is currently not?

That description does not sound like Reason Mobile to me, more like a next-gen Figure.

:D .... me too- but I still applied

Yup that's what I was thinking, probably some kind of loop mashing app that uses alihoopa for its loop library :/ maybe with take like vocal recording and figure like beat and melody sequences

But they named the link ReasonMobile so a big clue :)

Aha... I missed that tidbit B)

  • Figure in any advanced state would be most welcome on my iPad- as would any form of Reason. Either/ or I'll be happy :)

  • This is interesting timing too:

Rebirth's been around for years. Why are Roland getting funny about it now? Maybe they want to release an iOS version of the 303/808/909 combo. Yeah, I can dream :D

  • No ! Roland is a dinosaur taking money from patents and days of the past.

Let's hope it's not tied in to their awful social media experiment.

Most likely because they're getting serious about their Roland Cloud initiative and ReBirth is getting a bit too close in terms of value proposition.

    Yep.

Now that Roland is more earnestly in the "faithful recreation of our old stuff" market, they realize that this 20 year old app ported to iPad and selling for pennies on the Roland dollar is too close to their new versions of the real thing. I don't use Rebirth all that often but the beat boxes at least are really quite a marvel. 20 years old! Most people on this forum didn't even have an email address 20 years ago.

Of course, it's prolly down to silly lawyering though. People aren't buying the new Roland recreations for the sounds. It's the experience of using the hardware (along with the sounds).

  • Will I still be able to re-install or do I need to backup?

  • It'll mean Rebirth will never get updated again. So when IOS 11 comes, it's Bye,Bye. Like Alchemy.

Not true. ReBirth is 64 bit.

There's still a little while to grab it before it's gone for good. Is it worth owning if you already own modstep and a bunch of iaa/aux ?

I wouldn't pay for an app that it's going to be abandoned.

  • I hate Roland. Virtually all the hardware gear I have here that no longer works has been made by them.

It's a fun app with a high nostalgia factor (it's been around for 22 years). Not sure how good/useful it is for integrating into bigger setups, but I still occasionally enjoy tinkering with it on its own.

Me too....... It's nice to have dabble with it, now & again........... I was hoping Propellerhead would of added "LINK" to it? Especially, as Reason 9.5 has Ableton LINK in there DAW now.
