Regroover Essential - Extract Layers from Drum Loops - Was $99 - Free Until 6/21 (For Computers)
Imagine you have a drum audio loop and you want to isolate the Kick, snare, hihats, etc to separate tracks. Regroover does this through artificial intelligence. You have to do a bit of fine-tuning to make it work perfectly, but it works. And it does more stuff, like letting you assign MIDI notes to different layers.
Only until 6/21

Full Disclosure: You do have to jump through some hoops to download this. Essentially you are given a code that will allow you to register on the ADSR site where you'll get the real serial number. The price of this is getting on another mailing list...

ah, already had an eye on this, can check it out now, thx Reid
That's cool. Just nabbed and watched the first couple of demos. Sweet. Thanks to the heads up!

Just use this - https://10minutemail.net/m/?lang=en
The cdkey gets attached to the email you provide though. So you would have to remember the fake email Id forever.
One guy on another forum I'm on compared this to Melodyne and Recycle having a baby.
Melodyne in separating loops to separate tracks (but focused on drums in this case)
Recycle in being able to trigger and remix using MIDI.
Some people are finding it a hassle to install as it requires that all your network devices be enabled for authorization. I had no issues.
The company that's doing this is ADSR, which I already subscribe to on YouTube, as I like their tutorials.
Yup. Was already on their mailing list. So it's no sacrifice for me lol.
Can't complain for free... but this doesn't seem to do all that much unless you upgrade to "Pro" and buy the expansion pak. Can't route to other DAW channels, no editing, etc. They get $99 for this?
In ableton I can just bounce to audio. So I can quickly separate layers in a loop within a minute. After that I just do all my edits in the daw itself. Extracting the layers is all I really need. And this essential version has it.
Unless I'm doing something wrong (possible) it doesn't appear I can do that in Logic Pro. Can't route the layers to other channels, can't export layers... I'm actually trying to figure out if there's really anything I can do with this "Essentials" version at all.
It splits up the layers, and I can isolate stuff within each layer, but I can't record it, bounce it, or export anything from it without getting a pop-up saying it's only supported in the $219 "Pro" version.
Almost certainly I must be doing something wrong.
wait. logic cannot send audio from 1 track to another ? how is it even a daw then ? D=
That's what I'm doing and what I'm trying to say. I'm getting nothing but silence on bounce. I can only preview my layers within the plugin. Can't play them any other way that I can see.
Never mind. I didn't intend to ask you for help anyway. Just noting that I can't do much with this "free" app in Logic Pro. If I've got it set up wrong, I'll ask elsewhere.
Glad it's working for you. Take care
hey. managed to figure out how to help you. notes c3+ trigger each of the layers. can you draw in the notes and see if it atleast plays back the specific layer ? then try and freeze and see if it works. its working without having to route between tracks this way. the "preview" button doesn't render anything. just incase thats what you were trying to do. it has to be triggered by the midi.
managed to split a deep house drum loop (in blue) into a separate kick
and shaker layer this way. just triggered. bounced. and pasted into a separate track.
Just tried what you suggested in Logic Pro ie. trigger c3+ and that worked. Routed to an audio track, or can record midi to the same track. Where did you find that? I scoured the manual and didn't see any mention of it. Anyway, thx
Guess you can use Logic as a daw after all!![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
i was actually kidding about the logic comment lol. didnt mean any offense
glad i could help
btw. I totally skipped the manual. Each layer actually mentions the note to trigger it. So just pressed the keys and saw it worked.
Cool. Thx! Yep, right there in the interface. Kinda small, but it's right there. If it'd been a snake![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I'm having some crazy fun just messing around with a single drum loop lol. It's not perfect at extracting. But you can get some surprisingly nice results messing around once it does.
Nice one @Reid thanks for the posting.
thank you
No problem! Glad it's helpful for people.
I do recommend that everybody watch the videos. They are very short. There is NO way you will be able to extract the audio properly unless you watch at least tutorial #2 and #3. You must adjust the layers a bit to get the most out of this tool.
Ta
You rock! Thank you.
Got it. Thanks
By any chance, did anybody experience performance problems after downloading this? I want to be careful in how I phrase this as I don't mean to imply that the developer for this software is at fault nor do I even know if this is the cause of the problem I encountered but all I know is, the same day I downloaded this on my Macbook on Firefox, everytime I would scroll up and down, it would be shaky or not sure how else to describe it, but not smooth. Just now, I couldn't stand it anymore so I deleted my old Firefox and re-installed it and everything is back to normal. I actually ran a virus scan test the day after I initially downloaded this and it said there were NO viruses or anything funky but again, the display would suddenly have subtle flashes when scrolling up and down and they're gone now ever since re-uploading Firefox.
Thought I would share just in case anybody else experienced the same thing.
Oh one more possible reason. I've got the plugin Httpseverywhere and Privacy Badger so that might be part of it as they've blocked other types of trackers (almost every company has them, especially Facebook) for data collection.

Hope this helps
Got it, works fine for me
