Echo Pitch question

Hi,

I didn't want to further OT the other pitch shifting app thread, so thought I'd better create a separate one. Just a quick query for Echo Pitch users - the app states 'each delayed signal can be pitched one octave up or down in 1/2 steps'. So I'm presuming this means you can play octaves above/below the original note, plus a note halfway between. Is this the only range it has? I was hoping you could pitch the delays to any of the eight notes in an octave - or can you do this?

Cheers

Yes @MonzoPro from -1 to +1 octave in half steps,
from the inapp manual: 'Pitch: Controls the pitch of the delayed signal, in 1/2-step increments, from one octave below to one octave above the direct (non-delayed) sound ... Echo Pitch can create up to four independent, time-synchronized pitch-shifted delays, creating cascading arpeggiated patterns and ethereal, ambient effects. The four delay lines can be routed through a Master Delay that can function as a looper. In addition, there is an Amp Simulator and Reverb to enhance the sound when using headphones or routing directly to a mixer or audio interface. Each of the four delay lines can be routed into each other via the Matrix icon ...'

  • Each delay can be shifted in 12 semitone steps either up or down. Pitch shift can be used dry if needed, without any delay signal mixed in.

  • Thanks guys - still slightly confused by the pitch adjustment but bought the app anyway.

Happy to say it works perfectly, and had a nice pitched riff going within minutes.

  • I was noodling with it and getting nothing really usable. Stupidly, I was using it as a standalone, and it had the iPad mic open. Just had a five-minute noodle with EchoPitch in the FX slot of AB3 with Bebot as the input. Neato.

  • But I would love to see some video on how to work all these knobs and that baffling grid (D1>D4; D2>D3, etc...?).

The grid is feeding delay channels into one another, so you can echo the echoes.

I'm slightly baffled by the main delay, and whether we can change the speed of the delays in the channels this way - if they're completely fixed to a set tempo then this would limit the app a lot.

Saying that though I've just had a great time running Patterning through it it it it

  • @ExAsperis99 just picked it up. Looks cool. I will dive in and see what I can fine. Had a quick play with it and dot melody.

Sounds even better in a clipped Mark E. Smith voice....

I'm trying to perfect the mumbling bits, at the end of each sentence:

Puts on Official Bebot dinner jacket, runs off to give it a go....

I'm wearing the sparkling Manuel Göttsching cape of dreams, weaving glissando ripples of special guitar magic, with the odd unwelcome bum note that echoes echoes echoes
