I mainly use my ipad for music, but of course i have some apps on my phone for those bussrides and stuff,
These are the ones on my phone

What do you think is there something else i really should ave on my phone, i prefer having smaller apps on the phone since its only 16gb

  • ThumbJam
And Roland SoundCanvas for a compact sound library. Only 43mb

  • Roland SoundCanvas is nice but is in desperate need for an update to get on on par with SoundCanvas VA on the desktop which was made after the iOS version. It's still an IAA-Generator and quite 'shaky' one too. Turning it into proper IAA-Instrument or better yet AUv3 would lift it to another level!

  • Auxy and korg ids-10. I'd recommend the former over the latter for sonic variety but automation in ids-10 with the Kaoss pad is super duper fun

  • Filtatron and Bebot!

Two fun time killer apps to just play around when waiting at the bus stop.

  • Garageband.. not particularly small, but it's quite well-designed for iPhone and it does have Alchemy built-in.

    Sigh, THUMBJAM!
One of the best performing apps on the phone. If you want a little more GeoSynth or GeoShred (guitar goodies newer better internal sounds same type of controller)

    Xynthesizr (great for generative leads)

Either ChordPolyPad, Soundprism, or Navichord (bang out some chords)

Animoog (nothin like it anywhere) Poison-202 (
    NodeBeat (free)
Any or all of the AUFX and/or Holderness FX

I could name more but these are either small unique or sublime.

  • Thumb Jam
    TC 11
    TF8
    Ninja JAmm

  • @RustiK
You are evil for suggesting TC-11. Just recommended Audulus and get it over with ;) :)

  • Doh ThumbJam, used to have it there dont know why its not there, should be there, downloading..

  • Bismark bs-16i has a small 56 MB footprint. You can load many more soundfonts in and still keep it relatively small.

    Doubleplus on all of these.
Full disclosure: I don't have Poison, but I did run all of the rest on a 16b phone (with the obvious exception of Navichord) and managed to get a lot done.
