How many apps can I safely run for live gig on iPhone & what app/tool shows accurate CPU%?
Hello all, I'm planning on playing a gig fairly soon using my 16gig iPhone 6 running Seekbeats/AUM/LaunchPad/Loopy and MoDrum with Novation LaunchControl XL as controller when it hit me that I might already be pushing it past it's capacity. Are there any general guidelines on what is a safe CPU% that any ios device can handle? Additionally, are there apps or % meter on existing app that shows the usage for each app so that if I have to, I can remove a large CPU draining app from my live workflow and find a replacement.
As an example, I really like Launchpad but if it's using too much, I'll try and adjust my workflow to utilize Loopy more for certain loops, maybe even import the loops I like from Launchpad to Loopy. (assuming Loopy is in fact more efficient than Launchpad)
Thanks in advance!

id say around 80% is what you'd want to momentarily want to max at. after that its crackle city. Keep it in the 70's.
If you go into a live situation without having thoroughly tested your worse-case scenario then you're making a huge mistake. No numbers are going to tell you what could happen.
It also depends a lot on how much latency you can get by with. If you're just triggering loops and stuff then you can turn up buffers to reduce crackles more than any other measure. If you're jamming live from a keyboard or pads, then you're probably going to want lower buffers/latency, so your chance of crackles will go way up.

short answer:as little as possible![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
What @wim said. My biggest concern with my iPhone is battery drain while running music apps. It drains significantly faster than my iPad. You have a way to keep it charged?
