Redundant Apps

Do you know any apps that are redundant? Meaning add a little bit of this and sell it as a totally different app, add a little bit of that and comes another different app, instead of just upgrading the app all by itself. I was just hoping that we could have all of the bells and whistles in one package, or at least can be added through IAP.

Comments

  • I agree about Soundprism, it's a little confusing. I'm interested in the app, but not knowing which one to buy has made me put it on the back burner.

I think it's just one strategy to deal with the way the App Store compensates developers. Personally I prefer a new app version over IAPs.

    Gadget

I disagree so much with this lol. i use gadget as a multitool for when i need a sound my other Aux don't give me.
like a layered bass or even piano sounds. (loaded module, imported sounds into gadget, deleted module).
i sequence it inside modstep so gadget is pretty much just a sound module for me. and it does have some delicious sounds. if i intend on using more than 1 gadget sound i render the midi inside gadget and export the sounds via audioshare into Auria pro or export to Ableton. The ableton midi export is also amazing for when i'm sketching melodies on the go and want to do the meat of the sound design in Ableton. Its definitely not redundant to me lol.

I believe the Rytmik app(s) fit the bill

First they released Rytmik Ultimate and updated it twice. A year later they release Rytmik Ultimate Complete, essentially the same app but with some IAP sound packs included and it seems this new version is the only one that is updated now

I'm not against saying an app is complete and leave it at that, particularly considering the ridiculous low prices on iOS apps but that doesn't seem to be the case here, since they're still updating the new app
