Off topic: iPhone home button
Hi,
Anyone know if it is possible to change the following functions around to extend the life of the home button?
Double tap the home button to drop the screen down when using iPhone one handed to reach top of screen.
Double press the home button to open the app select/swipe/delete function screen.

I use the assistive touch on-screen button to save wear and tear. My first iPhone succumbed to a broken button, so I use this option on my phone and iPad.
On the iPhone it's inevitable unless you want to use assistive touch.
On the ipad it's totally doable. Without having a floating button obstructing the screen.
I try to mix up where I press the home button (top corner, bottom corner, etc.) Not sure it helps, but pressing too hard, always in the same place, always seems to wear out my wife's phones' home button. I'll await your jokes now.
Just seems a missed opportunity if it cannot be swapped as i use the screen lowering double tap far less and it eliminates wear and tear
in iOS 11 the behavior changes for the Home Button - When you have an app open, you drag up from bottom of screen and your taskbar apps are there, so it's much easier to switch - and you can keep as many apps in the taskbar as you want. You can also Grab taskbar apps and drag them right up into split screen. Recently opened apps are on the right side of the taskbar (you can disable these from showing if you like), your assigned apps on the left. Single press of home button will minimize currently open app, double tap brings up the Control Center (what used to drag up from bottom of screen), and long press activates Siri. (normal qualifier these might change prior to release). https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-11-beta-2-changes-control-center-tweaks-experimental-safari-settings-do-not-disturb-while-driving-and-more.2052584/
