Blocs Wave question for Ampify.
I would have asked this directly- but can't find a contact tab on the website.
Anyway- I would just like to know. For over a year now many users have been asking for some sort of filing system (even a rudimentary one would be better than nothing) for the audio clips that populate Blocs Wave- particularly because even with less than infrequent use- the location of said clips becomes more unmanageable and chaotic. I think you replied some time ago to indicate that it was something that you had an awareness of.
I would like to ask- is this being currently addressed? If so- are you able to say how long it will likely be to appear. If not- then why not? I'm afraid to say that I still retain a doubt that you fully appreciate the major drawback that this is on the app- which is why I am asking.
Finally I would like to finish by saying what a wonderful concept and execution that Blocs Wave actually is (apart from the above). It has revolutionised and rejuvenated the way that many people create music- I have a sense though that such a marvellous creation is deserving of a filing system- being without one is becoming quite undignified and somehow beneath it- don't you think?
Many thanks

I agree 100%...it would help a lot of people...

Launchpad app using Blocs import with my own samples into my Launchpad Pro has been my main music creation tool in the last year. The fact that a file system hasn't been implemented yet baffles me. But I let it slide because I love everything Novation does, and I know you guys are busy. I see a full spectrum iOS Ableton-like system in the making...where Launchpads, Circuits, ControlXLs, Launchkeys work seamlessly with Groovebox, Blocs, LP etc etc etc....(100 IAPs later...but so what?
Some people think Blocs is a "toy" app...but its simplicity has helped me build songs very easily.
So yeah...a file system please! Don't give up on Blocs just yet...
Filing, tagging, sorting by size or date etc etc. A dull thing, but one that would shine a bright light.
Indeed. I would add that any day of the week I would be willing to put one of our finished songs up against the efforts of whatever twerp claims it's a toy.
As new Blocs Wave and Launchpad packs and product development have slowed recently, I'm pretty sure it's because of a major effort with Groovebox. But I am assured that the other two apps are still being developed, and progress will be made.
Maybe they're just waiting for the iOS11 Files system now, rather than coding their own variant.
That would be the sensible solution and would speed up the migration to iOS11![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
They have already given that functionality that iOS 11 will bring.... by allowing the pack sharing between LP and BW....and doing it took priority over the other thing people have been asking for which is the ability to organise the files within that file system...by being able to tag files and filter/sort based on those tags or created dates etc...does iOS11 have new functionality to help with that ?
They have said many times that they want to do it, We just have to trust them that they will.....![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Personally, I DO trust them..
I find the ability to share back and forth with Launchpad much more useful than a file system so personally I think they had their priorities right.
Yup![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I mentioned this in the Groovebox thread but just to share it here: Yes we are aware of the need to improve the Blocs Wave imported/recorded loop management, and it's fair to say it's overdue. We want these improvements as well and are planning to address this, however we don't have an accurate timescale to give you.
FWIW, I'd place 8 Audio Channels in/out for both BlocsWave and Groovebox before implementing any sort of file management system

Good to hear. Will not hold your feet to the fire, but am eyeing your slippers...
Blocs is an app that like Samplr I still love for its immediacy. I don't really use their samples I went full in on sample packs to help fund development and hoped things like fx/pitch per slice and better user folder management would show up. Now, BM3 is king by a long shot in terms of how much I use an ios app, but Blocs getting some kind of update would be most welcome.
Love Blocs. Multiple outs would be great, but I think a re sampling option would be way better. Say I have 2 loops, I could combine them by recording both into another slot. Currently I'm bussing them into AUM and recording them there but it would be awesome to do it all in app
+1

Nothing, as you make it clear this pertains only to you personally. The twerps, to clarify, are those who denigrate the work of others because it is not the same as their path. You, sir, are doing no such thing.
