Midiflow problem

Hey, folks.

I'm trying to map the pads on my Launchkey 49 so I can trigger the pads on the iMPC pro app. I have midiflow.
Pad 1 sends out note number 40, an E2. However, in the IMPC program, the button I'm trying to assign it to accepts note number 49, which should be, according to documentation, a C#4. I'm trying to get that pad to send out note number 49 or a C#4. I've tried assigning the E2 to a C#4 in note remapping. When I monitor it, on the top it says it's going in as an E2, and on the bottom, it says it's a C#4. Yet, when I go into the Akai app, and do the MIDI learn, it's still saying note number 40, which was the pad's original value. What am I doing wrong? I have the proper input controller assigned, and on the bottom, I have it routing to the Akai app, but it's almost as though Midiflow isn't doing anything, in terms of sending the changed note to the Akai. It's obviously changing it in Midiflow. What am I missing?

  • Sadly, MIDI Note Number to Key/Octave isn't actually standardized. That is, 40=E2 in some apps, while 40=E3 in others, etc. Hopefully, you just need to try adjusting +/- an octave until iMPC hears it.

  • Actually, Johannes from Midiflow gave me a possible solution that I'm going to try tonight. Thanks.
