Beathawk Expansion - MUSICAL TOYS?! (Wtf?)
So, I just got the latest IAP expansion notification for Beathawk called musical toys. These are sounds like Toy Percussions, Toy Guitar, Glockenspiel, Music Box, and other sounds reminiscent of childhood. $8.99 USD. Part of me is like "God I wish they'd release a brass pack as a follow up to the strings", but how can I not be intrigued by this pack (especially for ambient music with non traditional metres/ametric timing)? Check the demo in-app and decide for yourself.
Once I get another iTunes card, this is mine. Audio Damage, ahem, "damaged" my wallet for the moment.

UVI has had the Complete Toy Museum collection for desktop out for years and that full-blown version is a cool $399.00
Fair enough.
I was just taken aback and surprised at the expansion pack we got this round. Took UVI long enough to get us a new one to play with, but at least I have new sounds to play with. ![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
I'm passing on this one. Still holding out hope for a Celtic pack or a brass pack.

Definitely - I'm all-in for this pack.
Would like to hear a few samples/examples...
The speak and spell type instrument is a gas...
Recently acquired a working Speak &Spell at a thrift store. Will be making my own sound pack soon.
That I look forward to hearing.....
Can I forward you some lyrics?![:* :*](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/kiss.png)
@mayo pm me your email, and maybe I can fit it in whenever I get around to similar endeavors.
Celtic Park would be good one- especially on those European nights![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
+1 very clever.
Got this expecting little and find it to be far more than expected....very stimulating.
@JohnnyGoodyear thanks, you're going to cost me![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
And you'll thank me afterwards... (just leave your money on the mantle etc)![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@JohnnyGoodyear been radio silent for a couple of days and most of my time has been devoted to this new sound pack. Refreshing range of sounds and very useful too so thanks glad I followed your lead![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'm really enjoying this pack too. It's unconventional but fun.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Big slab of Musical Toys in here - anything is possible...
Nice. And funny. Not what anyone would have thought 'Musical Toys' about![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Believe it or not, Musical Toys are extremely common in the Virtual Instrument world. Native Instruments has just come out with Kinetic Toys, an expansion of a holiday freebie.
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/cinematic/kinetic-toys/
You find them from little sites like Audiothing
https://www.audiothing.net/instruments/
which includes a library of a toy glockenspiel being hit by ping pong balls
to bigger ones like 8Dio
https://8dio.com/instrument/misfit-toy-instruments/
and Spitfire Labs (donationware)
http://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/ranges/spitfire-labs/
and our good friends, the sensual sax creators, embertone

Another thing that's common is Kitchen sounds-- making samples from banging on pots and pans and water bottles.
Composers are always looking for unusual sounds...
