Is AUM a solution for sidechaining in Cubasis?
I'm looking for a solution for sounds to trigger responses in other tracks in my mix.
I don't own AUM, but if I made this the first instance in my workflow, could it work together with Cubasis and give me the sidechain that I desire? Have tracks on AUM and Cubasis running alongside each other?
Comments
Has cubasis multiple input output external channels (like loopyhd ie)?
I'm not sure? Is this related to an answer to my sidechain problem?
Well I saw the other thread and community answers in between... If you want to sidechain parts/channels yo will need it to route into AUM when we find a solution or au:push will be updated
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/18600/aum-smartmixing
@Dubbylabby Thanks, I'll have a good read through that thread![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
AFAIK No, other than being able to route to different external audio outputs if you have an interface with multiple outputs.
Thanks, I think AUM will be useless in this situation (I can be wrong).
I thought AUM had side chains?
I was thinking of having the drum and bass running on AUM with sidechains, then the rest of the track plays on Cubasis running parallel.
Is this not possible?
Not sure... AUM has busses and routing but from my smartmixing topic it seems few or none actual (compressor) apps (aside Auria Pro) have sidechain cappabilities.
Maybe if you combine routing, korvpressor or PressIt and multiple input output you can accomplish it. I lack in multiple input output audio interface (but I have two iDevices with stereo interfaces to test maybe) to make a proof of concept so I'm just waiting to @j_liljedahl to update au:Push or AUM itself.
Meanwhile I'm wondering the possibility of build a dedicated midi controller to manage two instances of PressIt in the way I imagine (no need for the special controller if you can work with regular one
) as I posted in that topic (frequency splitted sidechainning).
Another near possible solution could be BeatMaker3 which seems have routing and sidechain![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/love.png)
@Dubbylabby Thanks for the in depth answer! I imagine you are after a similar solution to my problem?!
I doubt we are the only ones.
Come on Devs! AU sidechain compression! It's a goer!
Yup! But I'm not so versed like others in this forum like @Samu so take my info with care due I could be wrong... it's what I understood atm but maybe I miss something or your sidechainning needs have some workaround (I don't have Cubasis or Auria). I just share the search as helpful(?) since it seems we have similar needs![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Devs are aware so it's a matter of time probably...
