  • Ouch, yeah, gonna pass. I never really did get into modstep given it's not exactly my workflow. :D

  • I'm all over this B)

    Yer on
@AndyPlankton: External samples? (A vocal clip that I can't make in app...)

  • Lol. Nope. I'm out.

  • It makes sounds?

  • I actually really like both of Modstep's internal instruments, but sadly I'm probably not going to have time to take part in this challenge

  • Wait. @AndyPlankton there's no time limit ?

  • edited July 2017

Here's my first little diddy noodling with it tonight

Using the internal synths and sampler and effects feels like playing with an OP-1.

    Great idea @AndyPlankton B)

Yes...any samples you want....but must be played by the ModStep sampler...

The main reason I started these challenges is to give us the chance to maybe have a go with those forgotten or written off apps and to work in different ways outside of our norm. But if you're not feeling brave enough ;)

If this thread is still kicking around in a few weeks and I've got a free afternoon, I may throw something in!

This is actually cheating since I used Viking Synth (bass sound) additionally to Modstep's internal instruments, but it was all done inside Modstep (single app workflow) and uses both Modstep's synth and sampler, then bounced inside Modstep. While not in the 'concept' of the thread, I thought it could be interesting for people if I shared it.

I made it on our original ferry ride over to Dublin, when we were literally carrying all our worldly possessions with us (90% of which being performance equipment/instruments/costumes) plus an appropriately highlighted copy of the Lisbon Treaty..

The vocals (which are in native Sakha language) were recorded in the Ferry's lounge area with the iPhones bundled headphones mic, and I did my best to process them in Auria to get rid of excessive background noise.

  • @echoopera

That is awesome! I'm really enjoying listening to this while I work. Quite mesmerising

By the way, just another completely inappropriately placed shout out here for how amazingly good Viking Synth sounds (I rarely hear it mentioned). I don't know what more anyone could want out of a monosynth! Bread and butter.

    Anyway..
    Modstep!

  • Great idea @AndyPlankton For the record, I actually had this idea first :p
(Just forgot to say anything, 'kin'el!) Im on a high speed train for two hours and Ill contribute something soon ish.

    Nicely done sir :)

    Here's my attempt....
Not very musically adventurous as I concentrated on the sounds....all Drums are from the included kits....all synths are from the internal synth...vocal stabs imported into the sampler from blocs wave.

I'm glad I done this, i have largely ignored the synth up until now...
