Yay. New Future Drummer update just out.

Bug fixes and 'improved midi out'.

Haven't tried it yet, though.

  • Excellent that there's an update.

I'm always hoping for new FD kits. User Import would be the ultimate but also welcome: new sounds even if IAP.

Can you tell me how many instruments there are for MIDI out? I know the rock one has 6 including the cymbal, and that the hihat open/closed is the same track. Thanks.

  • There are 5 midi outs I believe. You can alter their midi notes.

    Plus the cymbal.

I think someone on this forum found the midi note for the cymbal - but you can't alter it.

You CAN now map the cymbal.......the other big thing in there is being able to save multiple 'MIDI Maps' for using FD with different apps/devices...

Yay... (haven't tried MIDI out in the new version yet)

I noticed when crating your own grooves it's a bit buggy with saving. The big bug I had where anything I saved would crash the app when retrieved has now been fixed. Yay. But now it sometimes disables the 'save' button even if you have made a change. I think you have to make changes to the first three drums (rather than drums 4 and 5) for it to recognise that you've made a change and allow you save your changes.

Also have noticed a small bug (with Link on) where the play head is in the wrong possition in the groove screen (it misses the first two steps).

But none of these are show stoppers at all.

I'm loving what you can do with this app. Programming your own patterns from scratch and then letting it do it's thing is great.

Currently one of my favourite things :)

Basically, there are 5 instruments... But you can assign different hits to diferrent notes. For example, assign ghost note to d1, Accent to e1 and drag to d#1. So ... you can send up to 17 notes (5*3 + 2 cymbal crashes )

  • Nice. Thanks Luis and matt fletcher 2k.

  • @LuisMartinez I'm loving FD here - any plans for new kits? (fingers crossed) or even sample import? (fingers And toes crossed)
