App idea (good or bad, want your opinion)

Hi all!
I just recently bought the Patterning app and I was amazed by how easy and fast it is to work with it.
I usually sequence drums and synths in Cubasis, which works fine for me.
But working with any grid based sequencer involves a lot of scrolling, zooming, swiping, piching etc.
This takes time and is not very ergonomic.
So I was thinking why can't we use Patterning's way of sequencing for all instruments.
Using the "layer" option on the right hand side you can choose to draw notes and octave.
Wouldn't that be much faster and easier to work with?
You would still have different track that can be different instrument.
You can draw more than on note on each time slot (for the current track) for chords.
Basically extend Patterning to be a sequencer not only for drums.
Is this a stupid idea or is it good?
I would like to hear what you think.
Thanks

  • I would love to see a Patterning guitar module. But only if this included sustain controls, etc. Preferably, any such module would also have midi out, to use the sounds from GeoShred, and other such apps.

  • I found it quite cool to feed Patterning snippets of my own guitar recordings.
With proper setting of note duration and adjustment in the sample editor it works surprisingly well.
The trigger mechanism with auto-rotation active is a bit obscure (for me) still, but I didn't yet dig too deep into this.
