Bitter Clingers: Still using Audiobus 2?
When do you start to transition out of it?
I beta test 3 but find with my limited time and patience just turning to AB2. In reality, I play most everything I do and audio is most important. I only need Genome or Infinite to remember and replay a baseline, but that is really it. AB3 seems like a great app if you are into extensive or substantial MIDI action. Plus I needed to wait for the Remote aspect to be 100% operational.
How many others are still on AB2?
For those on AB2 what is your workflow look like?
Comments
Yeah, I still use AB2. Mainly coz I do all my recording in Cubasis - which is even better now I can copy tracks whole and then record new tracks. Saves so much time setting the tracks up.
My workflow for AB2 is usually just the connection from Bias FX to Cubasis as this seems the most stable situation for recording my guitar parts.
IAA often doesn't do the job and crashes too much for my liking.
So you are using a guitar mostly?
@RustiK Yeah, any other samples or parts (drums, gadget) I tend to send straight to Cubasis via midi or export, so that I can mess around with them inside Cubasis.
I'm waiting to get AB3 when I get a new ipad (hopefully before fall). So yeah, still using AB2. I mostly just use AB now to load apps, then route to AUM for recording/fx so I can get the side-switching panels in apps.
I'm still on 2. I don't use midi at all.
I just make audio clips the pop them into either launchpad or Cubasis or both.
I held out with 2 until I realized that Troublemaker can only function as a MIDI source in AB3. That was all it took to get me to jump onto that number 3 train.
I'm still on 1
Bitter Clingers would make a great band name.
As is often the case; you beat me to it. I was actually thinking maybe the back-up singers....you know...Gladys Knight and The Bitter Clingers etc etc
Even better!
I know a lot of work has gone into AB3 but £9.99 is a lot for an app that just routes stuff.. AB2 does what I need...
The iPhone 6s Plus came with iOS 9 and I've been hesitant to upgrade beyond 9.3.5. So far I'm missing out on AB3, Groovebox, and Unique for iPhone. Unique having a separate iPhone release is a bit of a red flag (worry about updates, though to be fair, they've released them in step so far), Groovebox would have been an instadownload (based on liking Blocs), but not going to do an iOS update just to try something. The AB3 MIDI scene maturing (read, my MIDI apps actually supporting it) is what will probably break the seal...
I'm still on 2 myself. I'm not a bitter hold out. It's just not high priority on my list of purchases at the moment. Maybe I should bump it up just to send financial support to Sebastian and company.
I have aum..don't need any bus anymore
