Plectrum update is here!!!
version 1.1 with attack knob:
Comments
YES.
Really? THAT is what you've been waiting for?
YES. AND to have my faith in humanity partially restored because a Google image search (if you were ever likely to conduct one) for "attack knob" just brings up hundreds of muso/boffiney type guitar nerd goodness and nothing you might be concerned the Vicar would take as untoward etc. All is well.
As everyone in the Program knows, One day at a time.
I think this is a very cool app, even tho its very limited and all that, but because its an AU, it doesent really matter, as its just another plugin, not a complete app.
Glad to see it being updated, even if its only something this small
Plectrum makes life brighter just by existing. so an update is always welcome![:hushed: :hushed:](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/hushed.png)
Strangely, that's precisely how I feel about it.
What a background/app icon. Shame I deleted it after a 20 second spin
seriously. you need to give it another go. feeding it into Eos2, dubstation 2 or Grind there is tons of fun to be had.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
you should try it out too @ExAsperis99. you can make an entire track using a couple of heavily effected plectrums. I look at it as a challenge
I sprung for that fancy Ruckers harpsichord a while back so I've got something for when I feel like playing bard.
As for your suggestion, there are at least a few apps that are more fun to run through the audio damage units...![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
The thing is that they dont do what plectrum does. Plectrum doesent do muchk and certainly doesent do what laplace for example does with string sounds. But its free little add on that can be found some use for, so lets just be grateful for what little it gives, because no one else gives it like it does
And hope it insipres someone to make a song he wouldnt had otherwise made, or a hobby dev to make and release an AU instrument like this for free that he wouldnt otherwise would had released ![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Wow i just noticed that you can load other audio units to it on standalone mode, to replace plectrum, but using it as a host. Push the plug icon on lower left corner, and it gives list of all AUs, also effects listed but they only give blank view and wouldnt make sense to work. It also has bluetooth midi. So it should be possible to use it as a simple free au host(for aus that lack bluetooth midi) that can be played easily through bluetooth. That is if it works, i didnt test it
Listen to Bard’sTale-Seeker’sBallad-plectrum-auria byCrz on hearthis.at
It also has the best app icon on iOS
I'm waiting for Plectrum Maker 3.
All aboard the hype train.
God, how I wish that an upvote option was available on this site.
Agreed.
We definitely need a 'plectrum challenge' on here. Plectrum as only sound generator, whatever FX you like and DAW/host of your choice!
That's actually a really good idea. Take a relatively limited sound source and do your best with the plethora of sound mangling options that we have on tap.
Rather than start from the latest and greatest "game changing" high fidelity/fully featured app (naming no names...) be creative with whatever is available.
I can feel a germ of inspiration incubating, I like.
And with such a shiny, exciting and new production app having just been released (naming no names..) there's certainly no shortage of exciting new sound mangling possibilities right now!
