Incremental Benefits of BM3 vs Bilbao?
Curious whether I should make the jump?
Comments
BM3 is a full on Sampler. Bilbao is good for light duty precanned samples imho. It works but BM3 is in a different league.
BM3 is in a different league than any iOS app I have used. I am stunned at how good it is. Sure there are a few 1.0 kinks and quirks to be worked out but it is truly an amazing achievement. So many things on iOS really feel like toys or wacky science projects now. They have clearly thought of everything and found amazingly clever solutions. The bar has been raised dramatically. Gush, praise, worship.
Agree, well said.
That being said....depends on what you need it for. One thing that bilbao and gadget has that who knows how long will take for bm3 to achieve is that it's super stable. You won't lose your work.
Which workflow, in your opinions, is "quicker"?
Gadget is fun and quick and sounds great. Audio is not where it needs to be and if you want to use exterior synths it's not the best option. But i love gadget and usually figure out a way to use it for most things.
If your serious about sampling, BM3 it the place to be.
I adore the Gadget workflow and have used Bilbao extensively, but it's very clunky to do the basic stuff I do regarding handling samples.
One benefit is that BM wont eat your battery in 2 hours like Gadget
The only advantage of Bilbao over BM3 sampler is that it is part of Gadget.
