BEAT FAKER 3 vs. NanoStudio 1?

Difference off the top of my head is that Nano Studio has a superior synth.

Beat Faker has far superior marketing department fo' sho'!

There is not 1 innovative thing in this app, I am sorry.

There are MANY apps doing the same thing and better.

Nevermind not NICKLE and DIMING for a knock off version of UVI's PREMIUM sample collection.

But don't sell me "Stabs" and Pad" shots for Christ's sake.

iMPC Pro
Cubasis
Beat Hawk
Takete
Modstep + Samplr

The list is endless.

I just needed to put it out there that BM3 although sexy to look at and marketed extremely well, is NOT ANYTHING THAT EXCITING compared to what else is readily available and of higher quality.

And not so "IN THE BOX" and MYOPIC for my taste.

I have my flack jacket on and ready for incoming.

  • That was an unnecessarily derisive thread. Back to opening provocative topics, @Rustik?

the balance in the force has been restored hahaha :)

    this is a good family

  • Normally I'd pony up for BM3 without much of a thought, but I'm holding out for NanoStudio 2, which I just know will be the best thing yet. C'mon, Matt, git 'er done!

To be fair I like many others have been waiting for BM3 to arrive, now the app has been hyped by the makers themselves and some of their beta testers for quite a while now so it's fair considering how long this has been going on to expect an app that whilst not perfect should be at least as good as BM2 if not a considerable improvement, it would also be fair to expect it to be fairly bug free...
However it feels as though they've dropped a beta version on us and it seems a mystery why we waited so long ?

  • You do know that they are going to burn you as a witch, don't you?

  • because the grass is always greener on the other side o:)

  • well the bright side is that seems like the beta testers were working with a better version, which means that a better version is in the works and being polished up. that means it'll come sooner than later and I appreciate intua trying to get it right. the next update should be a leap in functionality

  • @RustiK: so you've used BM3?

  • Refund anyone?

  • I was not a BeatMaker fan before the release. BM2 was a UX disaster IMO.

I am now a beatmaker fan.

Someone else on here said it best. I don't need cutting edge innovation. I want All the pieces and ideas, whether they're stolen from other apps or not, to work together in glorious harmony.

    Intua nailed it.

Not a chance. Even as it stands right now it's worth the 20.

I'm sure all three users of Takete agree with you.

@Rustik please name a previous IOS app that allowed :

    Linear + Loop based x Audio + Midi / Link + AU + IAA

To my knowledge it IS groundbreaking if only for this .

BM2 was already the best sampler on IOS & introduced diskstreaming I believe .
& for its final hurrah might have been the first Linear DAW to add Link ? I also believe .

    BM3 still has issues , (....)
I trust the developers have the patience , resolve & optimism to see through their vision ,
& wish similar attributes to all here .

  • @RustiK you've given me some good ideas for desktop organization. Thanks!

Heresy!! On a slightly different topic does anyone know when BM4 is hitting the app store, the wait is killing me

  • Some people get my humor and likewise.

It is about the timing of a good joke.

As we know, the best jokes are based in truths.

I am not totally ragging on BM3 or I would have.

But, I can't act like it is so innovative and amazing either.

TBH- the midi sequencer touch selection and delete is best of any app besides Genome and InfinLooper and Auria.

The main selling point for me is that it has my favorite aspects of all the other apps i use in one. I literally bought every single daw app and all in app purchases. I've also realized that the look of an app allows me stay locked in. nano studio just doesn't look that good to me. maybe thats the visual artist in me.

BM3 has hella bugs. Silly ass bugs. Hope they fix those soon. but even with those bugs its still the easiest app for me to create on. I always wanted imaschine to be like this app.

    ok bye

    This ^

I made some nice little bits in iMaschine but the song arrangement is terrible, so I never finished anything. And iMPC Pro is an ugly crash fest.

This has the connectivity I want, the holistic approach from AUM, a kick-ass sampler, good sequencer and superb export options. And it looks great.

I don't need a sequencing app to be ground-breaking, I just need it to work.

  • Good morning to our sour grapes therapy members. Let it all out, your going to be fine in a week or two we are sure. ;)

Why? Ignoring obvious troll postings/bait like this is exactly what should be done.
    I'm closing this thread.
